A Solstice Reflection

I am in gratitude to have been given this time to celebrate this Summer Solstice in Whangamatā, a place which brings deep loving memories and history for me. This time is when the sun rises at the southernmost point of her trajectory, and we are bathed in her light for the longest time. This moment of suspension, when she is at her ebb, we can feel physically through our nervous system, calming our nerve plexus, and the world around us. A time of quiet, relaxed reflection, and enlightening evolution. It is the stillness at the top of the jump, like being on a trampoline, where the body is momentarily weightless. This suspension invites gratitude and respectful acknowledgement of the gift this moment holds.

This time of year carries a unique energy, one that invites reflection, connection, and deep self nurturing. With the summer solstice here in the southern hemisphere, Papatūānuku is at her fullest expression. The days are long, and the sun nourishes, enabling us to feed the light within and around us. Amidst this brilliance, we are reminded of the cyclic rhythms of life, the gentle ebb and flow that mirror the dance of nature and the cosmos. Suspended between these rhythms, we are sustained by the seeds of their goodness, allowing us to BE in this physical realm and enjoy the fullness of life.

For me, this season has become a time to pause, to relax, to withdraw from the busyness and listen deeply, to my soul, my source, and the whispers of my original design. Life is constantly changing, and with it comes the need to adapt. Adaptation doesn’t have to mean struggle. It can be a dance, one that begins with remembering who we are at our core.

I’ve been learning to embrace the shifts, to trust in the cycles of growth, rest, and renewal. The summer solstice reminds me that as the Earth turns, so do we. To live fully is to align with these rhythms, to nurture the light within, and to allow space for the unfolding.

This season, I’m choosing to nurture myself, not as a luxury, but as a necessity. To reconnect with the pulse of life. To honour the quiet voice within that often gets drowned out. To adapt with ease, remembering that growth doesn’t require perfection, only presence.

Life has a way of asking us to surrender, to release what no longer serves, and to trust that even in the unknown, we are being guided. This is not the season of resolutions or rigid plans; it’s a time of deep reckoning, a time to honour and BE thankful the light and the shadows that allow us to BE who we are.

The miracle of this solstice is not only in what we create or achieve but in the ongoing cycle of birth and becoming. Even now, life is asking me to participate, to align with nature, and to carry forward the quiet, unshakable pulse of creation.

Each day is a gift, and being fully present is the greatest gift I can give myself this season.

So, I ask...
What in me is ready to emerge?
What within me needs energising?
What must I release to evolve?

As I reflect upon these questions, I would love for you to do the same. Let’s honour the rhythms of life, reconnect with our source, and adapt with ease.

Happy Sun Solstice! May this season bless you with connection, light, and the courage to remember your original design, with beautiful purpose.

Your Breath is Powerfully Medicinal!

Did you know your breath is your greatest healer? Each inhale and exhale holds the wisdom of the present, and our deep emotional connection with all that lives and breathes with us, allowing us to remember that we are part of the flow of nature itself.

Breath nourishes every cell, aligning us with life’s essence.

Breath anchors us in the present, quieting the noise, preventing stress and overwhelm.

Breath is the thread that weaves us into nature’s intelligence.

With each breath, you draw in molecules that have cycled through every living organism on Earth. The oxygen you inhale today may have been exhaled by dinosaurs or emerged from ancient oceans billions of years ago.

Air carries the history of life itself, encoding the memory of Earth’s evolution.

You are literally your own medicine! When you consciously breathe, you remember yourself deeply, gently, positively, holistically, medicinally.

When we are running and feeling overwhelm, we are telling our body we are stressed, just by the depth of breath we take. Think of it like running from a lion, breathing shallow and fast to escape!

Practice the box breath, and take deep, conscious breaths:

✨ In for a count of 6
✨ Hold for a count of 6
✨ Out for a count of 6
✨ Hold for a count of 6

Breathing is true medicine. Avoid overwhelm, embrace calm, and let your breath guide you back to balance.

Take a moment now and breathe deeply. Feel the air expand your belly first, followed by your chest. Feel the rhythm of your body connecting with the pulse of Papatūānuku. Through breath, we honour our intrinsic knowing, the life force (mauri) within and around us.

Breathe in calm. Breathe out and feel calm.
Breathe in vitality. Breathe out and feel vital.
Breathe in happy. Breathe out, and Flow with your present…

Let your breath guide you to remember yourself WELL. 🌬️💚

Thank you for BEing here, breathing and sharing this beautiful air with me…

Probiotics make up the majority of our internal garden, providing protection, an intelligent barrier rooting our immunity and strengthening us from within. Their power became especially clear after the Chernobyl disaster, where scientists discovered something remarkable about resilience.

In areas exposed to intense radiation, Dr. Lawrence Royce identified a unique “blue zone” where villagers remained healthy, even though they were surrounded by environmental toxins. Their immune systems were thriving.

The secret?

Daily intake of natural ferments, rich with powerful probiotic strains.

These probiotics weren’t just a part of their nutritional intake, they were a lifeline.

Acting as natural defenders, they boosted the villagers’ immunity to handle even the most toxic conditions like being exposed to toxins like Anthrax.

By cultivating their internal “garden of life,” these probiotics built resilience, enhanced the gut microbiome, and shielded their macro being (human) from harmful effects of radiation exposure. It was as though these probiotics planted seeds of vitality within them, allowing them to flourish despite their surroundings and the toxins they had been in contact with.

Why Probiotics Matter for Us Today?

In our modern world, we are constantly exposed to pollutants, chemicals, and daily stressors that challenge our immune systems.

Probiotics, especially strains that thrive in harsh conditions, offer us a way to strengthen our bodies from within. They help clear out harmful bacteria, pathogens, parasites, fungi, support detoxification, and foster healthy diverse gut microbiome where good bacteria can thrive, an ecosystem of resilience.

Probiotics are our unsung heroes. They are the “garden of life” within, bringing balance and defence to our bodies. Incorporating high-quality probiotics cultivates this internal garden, allowing us to live with vitality and protect our natural Being.

Your health journey begins with nourishing your garden within with life.

Our internal world is a complex, thriving ecosystem. The gut lining, mucous membranes, and microbiome, made up of bacteria, fungi, and hopefully not too many parasites! All working together in harmony, forming our internal garden. This garden mirrors the layers of our taiao (environment), from the core of Papatūānuku (Earth Mother) to the surface where life radiates under our elemental forces.

In one cell, you have more bacteria driving its function than there are stars in the night sky, an awe-inspiring reminder of the vastness and power within you.

Just as our Mother’s layers support and nourish her surface, our internal layers form the structures which sustain us.

The balance within our microbiome is vital, it’s the foundation for our well-being, health, and vitality.

When our inner ecosystem thrives, we mirror our Mother’s natural radiant beauty and resilience.

This is why self-love is essential.

It’s not about appearance, it’s about nurturing the incredible world within, recognizing its power and worth.

You are a reflection of your Mother, the environment you choose to live!

You are unique, resilient, teaming with life, and entirely deserving of care from the inside out.

I did my first wee harvest today of strawberries from my garden, planted last season. These are Wild Alpine Strawberries - small, sweet, white on the inside, and full of delicious nutrients. I grew them from seed. They’ve rooted and flourished, guided by and delivering nature’s intelligence. It is vital to grow using Hua Parakore / Organic / Spray Free practices to avoid the toxic load from chemicals, and align our bodies with nature’s cyclic rhythms. When we eat in season, our bodies can digest and assimilate our kai more effectively, signaling what time of the year it is and converting these nutrients into the essential factors we need to help us thrive through each season with grace.Strawberries are rich in antioxidants, which neutralize free radicals, the harmful molecules that accelerate inflammation, aging, and disease. By supporting our body’s repair processes, it encourages regenerative and restorative actions, promoting longevity and vitality.Strawberries are also a great source of potassium, which may help regulate blood pressure and support bone health. Strawberries are packed with fibre and electrolytes, aiding hydration, which is critical, as most disease begins with a dehydrated cell. Eating in season helps us align with nature’s cycles, fully absorbing nutritional benefits when they are at their peak. The combination of fibre and potassium supports heart health, regulating blood pressure and maintaining cardiovascular wellness. Next time you enjoy these little red gems, know they’re a taonga | gift from the earth, nourishing you from the ground up, encouraging your body’s natural resilience and vitality. 🍓

Our health is a direct reflection of our daily habits.

Our happiness is a direct reflection of our daily habits.

The challenges we face arise from our own actions.

Within these truths lie the power to shift our path and transform our lives.

Self-responsibility is building the ability to deeply respond to ourself, our needs, our growth, our own well-being.

Excuses and justification keep us stuck.

Real progress comes from accountability and the courage to move forward.

Imagine a world where we all stand in our power, connected to our Mother Earth, fully responsible for our own journey.

This the vision I, and many others, are working to bring to life.

Years ago, seeds of disempowerment were planted, and though they’ve grown, they continue to feed the same cycle.

It’s time to break free.

We must remember to forget to remember, to release what does not serve us and reimagine our original design.

Let us be the ones who remember!

Let us rise to our full potential.

Let us inspire each other to do the same.

Do we even know what this means?

We hear it all the time… “Do the internal work!” “Love yourself first!”

Sure, coaches, meditation and breathwork are amazing resources and tools... however what does it really mean to do the internal work?

For me it was and is about healing our inside, at the deepest level.

True self-love isn’t only about positive thinking or having someone tell you that you are empowered, it is actually about healing and sealing all the internal linings that support your vitality. Your gut, vasculature, kidneys, and even the blood-brain barrier—these are the foundations that hold you together. These are the layers that help you communicate with your environment to form your self-identity and allow you to live in your purpose, without leaking energy all over the place!

When we heal and regenerate from the inside, only then can we truly love ourselves deeply, madly, and completely.

So, are you ready to learn how to do the real internal work?

I invite you to join me online this Thursday at 7:30pm for a FREE Gut Health Masterclass, which dives deep into boundaries, communication and diversification, a space where you’ll discover how to rewild, regenerate, and fall in love with YOU—from the inside out!

Register here… https://bridgetclare.com/gut-health-masterclass-join-now/

Look forward to seeing you there! 💚

Shinrin Yoku | Sylvotherapy | Forest Bathing

Connection with trees expands your light and seeds your body with nature’s medicine.

Shinrin Yoku (森林浴) is a Japanese term meaning “forest bathing”, where “Shinrin” (森林) means forest and “Yoku” (浴) means bath. In western civilisations it is also known as Sylvotherapy.

This practice invites you to immerse yourself in the energy of the forest, absorbing nature through all your senses—sight, sound, smell, and touch. It’s about connecting deeply with our mother nature and allowing her to guide your well-being.

Rooted in Japanese culture, where nature is revered as a powerful healer, Shinrin Yoku was formalised in the 1980s to help people manage the stress of urban living. By simply being present in the ngāhere, you allow the forest’s healing energy to calm your nervous system, reduce stress, and restore balance.

We receive a powerful exchange—trees release negative ions that promote healing, calm the nervous system, and restore mental clarity. Just 40 minutes among trees can lower stress hormones like cortisol, reduce blood pressure, and increase the activity of natural killer cells, boosting the immune system and supporting the body’s ability to fight illness.

Research highlights that the positive effects of time spent in nature can last for days, enhancing mood, sharpening focus, and balancing mood disorders like depression and anxiety.

Shinrin Yoku is a path to well-being and a sacred reconnection to our Earth Mother, who provides us with everything we need to heal and thrive.

Walking barefoot on the earth, hugging a tree, or sitting in silence allows you to receive nature’s medicine and realign with her wisdom.

Everything we need to heal and thrive can be found in the ngāherehere | forest. Whether it’s walking among trees or pausing to absorb the natural world, Shinrin Yoku offers a way to return to being whole!

This is nature’s medicine, pure, unfiltered, and always available to you.

How do you choose to connect and heal yourself?

Wow, what an incredible experience! Yesterday, I had the honour of connecting with 10 beautiful souls at the EES in Mt Wellington. We gathered in the most powerful, frequency attuning, heart-opening space, where we went deep into connection, communication, boundaries, and biodiversity.A huge thank you to Carol and Chris EES Auckland NZ for creating such an amazing space to hold this kōrero. 🙏🏼 Spaces like this allow us to truly realign our energy, raise our frequency, reconnect with ourselves and each other on the deepest levels. We explored, if we don’t nurture our boundaries and foundations within, how can we hold strong mana, set clear boundaries, and express resilience and hold space for balanced loving relationships in the outside world? A reminder that everything starts from the inside—whether it’s in our relationships, our health, and how we show up and walk our path.I’m excited to announce I have been invited back to EES on 30 November, 4-6pm, where we’ll journey into Plant Medicine, Rongoā – the Medicines of Our Ancestors. This will be an another beautiful opportunity to deepen our connection with nature, honour ancestral wisdom, and embrace the healing power around us. Seats are limited, so reach out if this speaks to you!If you are keen to lean into Gut Health, boundaries and beyond, I am going live again this Thursday, 17th, 7:30pm online where we’ll explore our internal boundaries, communication, self-identity, and how our gut and microbiome drive it all. Here are some testimonials from the last online session…Nita in Aus – “I thoroughly enjoyed your Gut Health Masterclass. It was interesting, informative, and inspiring, and drew my attention to much I hadn’t previously considered. Thank you for your teaching and knowledge.”Kim in NZ – “Loving this content!”Register here https://bridgetclare.com/gut-health-masterclass-join-now/I am honoured and grateful to share this journey of connection, growth, and healing with you all.
