1. Treatment of fractures
The purpose of fracture treatment is to restore bone continuity. There are many methods of fracture treatment, and the classification is also more complicated. Generally, conservative treatment and surgical treatment are divided according to the form of treatment; external fixation and internal fixation are divided according to the treatment method; according to the technology used for treatment, it is divided into "Chinese osteosynthesis", AO "technology and" memory osteosynthesis ". Because the treatment methods are different and the skills of doctors are different, the biological environment and quality of bone healing obtained by affected bones are very different. Therefore, an orthopaedic surgeon must not only understand the biomechanical characteristics of bones, the anatomical structure of bones, and various types of fixation techniques and methods, but more importantly, be proficient in the use of various instruments to ensure that patients receive scientific treatment.
2.Bone implants
Bone implants are solid objects used for internal fixation of fractures, arthroplasty, and interface fixation. They are commonly referred to as instruments here. The role of the implant is to assist in healing the bone, not to replace the bone structure. Due to the ability to withstand forces and stay in the body for a long time, there are certain requirements for the mechanical properties and biocompatibility of its materials. The current manufacturing materials of orthopedic internal fixation implants are mainly corrosion-resistant metals, ceramics and high-molecular polymers. See Table 2 for details.
