When you live with chronic pain, self-care isn’t a luxury - it’s a necessity. A non-negotiable.

Staying close to yourself, listening gently to your body’s whispers becomes an act of devotion.

Menstrual Cycle Awareness holds you in this - offering a way to stay attuned, to honour your rhythms, and to meet yourself with tenderness, day by day.

Because you deserve to be held - by yourself, by your cycle, by your healing 🌿

If you feel called to explore this path more deeply, my 1:1 online embodied healing sessions offer a gentle space to reconnect with your cycle, your body, and your inner healer. You are welcome to reach out directly or book your free exploratory call 💛

I believe chronic pelvic pain can be traumatic.

Endometriosis pain doesn’t exist in isolation - your nervous system is intimately involved. Each pain flare can activate a trauma response, especially if layered with unresolved past trauma. This activation pulls your body into survival mode - a place of protection, not healing.

And when you’re in this survival state, your system can’t fully repair or restore. Over time, this state can even amplify pain - a phenomenon called pain hypersensitivity.

This is one of the many reasons I approach endometriosis healing through a trauma-informed lens, supporting the nervous system to create pockets of safety — where healing becomes possible again.

I'm saving the deeper conversation about trauma and disease causation for another post 💛

If this resonates, know that you don’t have to navigate this alone. Feel free to reach out directly or book your free exploratory call - your healing is possible 💛

Your body knows how to protect and it also knows how to heal.

Understanding my own endometriosis pain through the lens of my nervous system changed everything. How chronic nervous system dysregulation can amplify pain signals. You might have heard other terms that imply or are part of this process such as neuroplastic pain, pain hypersensitivity, central pain sensitisation, and even the pain-fear cycle.

Supporting your nervous system is a foundational part of healing with endometriosis. If you'd like to know more, feel free to send me a DM or book your free exploratory call.

❤️‍🩹 The power of healing with your menstrual cycle ❤️‍🩹

From my own embodied cyclical experience healing with endometriosis, I believe:
🌿 Self-attunement is key to healing - menstrual cycle awareness facilitates self-attunement and is a self-care practice that meets your unique needs according to your cyclical rhythm
🌿 Menstrual Cycle Awareness gives you a bridge to yourself, to work with the disconnect from trauma - trauma disconnects the body and the brain, and disconnects you from you
🌿 The practice of menstrual cycle awareness is an important current internal resource
🌿 When we’re resourced, our bodies can naturally heal at the pace right for us - this is titration
🌿 Traumatic memories may arise where we are most resourced in the cycle and there can be a natural pendulation between these and supportive memories, allowing for processing and an integration back into the wholeness of you that can almost seem effortless.

Do any of these insights resonate with you? If so, I'd love you to share in the comments below.

What you do when you're not in pain… matters when you are.

Familiarity builds safety - and the more you explore what supports you when things feel okay, the more resources you have to draw on when you're in pain.

This might look like:
🌿 Time in nature
🌿 Rest at menstruation
🌿 Cuddles with your pet
🌿 A nourishing meal
🌿 Movement that feels good
🌿 Self-attunement
🌿 Support from friends, family, or professionals.

These become anchors. Regulating tools. Personal pathways to healing. Your practices that, over time, create something new - a little space from the pain. A moment where, instead of reacting (and activating your nervous system, which often amplifies pain), you can respond - gently, slowly, and differently.

That’s the alchemy.

Where you stop fighting or fleeing your endo pain… and begin meeting it with presence.

This is how you build capacity - stretch your window of tolerance - and learn to pendulate in and out of discomfort without becoming overwhelmed.

This is the work I offer in my 1:1 embodied healing sessions: resourcing, cycle-awareness, and growing your capacity to meet endometriosis pain with presence. If this speaks to you, feel free to send me a DM or book your free exploratory call 💛

Safety First 💛

Pain can make it feel impossible to be in your body.

Your body can try to protect you, by numbing out or disassociating - it is a powerful and efficient way to cope with intense sensation, namely pain.

Healing however needs the opposite of protection. It asks you to gently find safety within your body, even when in pain. Not all at once. Little by little, resourcing yourself in between as you build up your capacity to be with your pain. Being with your pain is the alchemy. This is where things can really shift and your pain can begin to dissipate over time.

You might like to pause and check in with your body right now. What does your body need to feel safe in this moment? Feel free to share in the comments below.

Menstrual cycle awareness has brought me closer to my intuition.

I don’t need to search outside myself for what my intuition already knows.

A pivotal moment was several years ago - curled up in foetal position on the couch, during my Bleed and in excruciating pain. My pelvis was screaming yet somehow I could still hear the voice of my intuition. Clear as day, she whispered: be with your pain. So I did.

I gently brought my awareness into my pelvis, simply feeling what was there. Staying. Not fixing, not fleeing. That moment changed me. That moment, by listening and following my intuition, changed my relationship with my endometriosis pain. I responded, rather than reacted.

It’s moments like these that show me how powerful this healing path truly is. The more I honour my cyclical nature - attuning to and surrendering to its rhythms - the more I hear that quiet voice within.

Maybe, take a moment today to ask:
When have I felt the quiet voice of my intuition during my cycle? What helped me hear it? What might help me hear it more?

Some days, healing looks like doing the bare minimum when you live with endometriosis
Answering one message
No energy for a shower
Though managing to brush your teeth
Lying still as the world rushes past
And that, dear one, is more than enough
Your body is asking for softness
To be held, not fixed
To be listened to
This is the wisdom of your body -
She is whispering to you ❤️

I see you.

Filling your cup at menstruation 🩸

Each cycle invites us to tend to what we most need at menstruation -
So we can draw on that nourishment for the rest of the month.

This bleed, I needed surrender.
I needed safety.
I gave myself permission to rest deeply into both.
This is the Inner Winter medicine -
The quiet power of restedness.

What did your recent bleed ask of you? ✨

You might feel called to share below in the comments. And if you’d like support in deepening into your own cyclical rhythm whilst naviagating healing with endometriosis, you’re welcome to book a free exploratory call.

Curious about what 1:1 support with me can offer you?

If you’re currently managing endometriosis pain through hormonal treatment, you might be wondering:
“How can menstrual cycle awareness help me if I don’t bleed or have a ‘typical’ cycle?”

Here’s how ⤵️
Hormonal treatments can shift or suppress your physical cycle, and for some women this may affect how they connect with their cyclical rhythm - but for many, a deeper connection to their body’s rhythm is still possible in meaningful and supportive ways.

In our work together, I support you to:
💛 Look to the moon and outer seasons as anchors for accessing your inner cyclical rhythm
💛 Rebuild body trust after years of pain or medical interventions - moving towards a felt sense of safety
💛 Understand your nervous system and become more resourced and regulated throughout the month
💛 Listen gently to what your body is communicating and use that as a guide for your healing journey

All of these may support a reduction in pain and flare-ups in the long term.

This isn’t about tracking a ‘perfect’ cycle. It’s about attuning to the subtle language of your body and meeting yourself exactly where you are.

28/05/2025

Rest isn’t always simple when you live with endometriosis. Especially when pain takes over your body, activates your nervous system, and makes stopping feel unbearable. Because to rest means to slow down. To feel. And often, we’d do anything but that because our bodies haven’t always felt like safe places to be.

So how do you rest when it feels impossible?

You begin gently, in a titrated way. Even just 0.1% at a time.

You begin to shift your relationship - with your body, with your cycle, with rest itself.

You learn to work with rather than against. Fighting only keeps you in survival mode, where healing can’t fully happen.

You can practise menstrual cycle awareness - not to fix but to gently attune. If your pain is cyclical, making space to rest during menstruation can support deep healing. If pain is constant or unpredictable, you can listen for moments of pause, however small, throughout your cycle.

Rest is not always accessible - and I want to acknowledge that. It is a privilege in many ways, especially when the world doesn’t pause for chronic illness. But even so, rest - when we can find it - can be a doorway: to healing, to re-embodiment, and to a new way of being in relationship with yourself.

If these words resonate … you’re not alone. And you don’t have to navigate this alone either.

My work supports those living with endometriosis to come into a more compassionate, embodied relationship with themselves and their pain. You’re welcome to book a free exploratory call, or reach out via DM if you'd like to connect.
