Earlier today, our Chief Executive Officer, Prof. John K. Mungania, led our fraternity in congratulating and awarding our football team for their outstanding performance during the Fellowship Cup 2nd Edition, an annual tournament that brings together public and private hospitals in a spirit of unity, talent, and sportsmanship. 🥈

Our team proudly emerged as the Runners-Up Overall, earning remarkable achievements including:

As we continue to celebrate Nurses Week, today our nurses took centre stage during the morning service, where they led the animation and shared inspiring messages, making the service lively and colourful.

In extending a caring hand to our clients and the community, our nurses are today offering free medical services at the outpatient grounds. The free services include:

▪️ENT consultation
▪️Dental check-up
▪️Cervical cancer screening
▪️Prostate cancer screening

ADVANCING HEALTHCARE THROUGH GLOBAL PARTNERSHIPS

Maua Methodist Hospital fraternity was honored to host Rev. Olav Schmidt, General Secretary of Weltmission, United Methodist Church in Germany, who paid a courtesy call to our facility over the past two days.

The visit, led by our Chief Executive Officer, Prof. John K. Mungania, together with Synod Bishop, Bishop Kinoti Anampiu, and the Hospital Management Team, provided an opportunity for meaningful engagement and fruitful discussions on advancing healthcare delivery. Special focus was given to the Paediatric Burn Unit and AIDS orphans Program, the key areas supported by the organization.

Rev. Olav expressed his appreciation for the hospital’s progressive growth roadmap, particularly the Big 8 Agenda, which continues to shape our vision of delivering accessible, specialized healthcare across the Nyambene Region and the wider Meru County.

THE BIG 8 AGENDA – A TRANSFORMATIONAL JOURNEY LED BY A VISION FOR BETTER CARE

This morning, our Chief Executive Officer, Prof. John K. Mungania, officially unveiled the Big 8 Agenda, a bold and transformative roadmap driven by a clear vision: delivering better, more accessible, and higher-quality care.

The Big 8 priorities include:
• Scale-up of surgical services
• Outpatient facelift and restructuring
• Establishment of a university college
• Development of a comprehensive funeral home
• Enhancement of imaging services
• Laboratory upgrade and ISO certification
• Expansion of specialized clinics and wings
• Strengthening security and infrastructure

Milestones Achieved So Far
Significant progress has already been made in advancing this vision. Key milestones include:

• Installation of a CT Scan to enhance diagnostic capability
• Establishment of a Renal Unit to support specialized kidney care
• Development of a modern Corporate Wing
• Launch of the Mwalimu Centre
• Establishment of the Doctors’ Plaza Wing
• Near completion of a fully equipped Oncology Unit

In addition, several other services are in the pipeline, all geared toward ensuring that quality, specialized care is accessible closer to the community. These strategic agendas continue to strengthen care at Maua Methodist Hospital as we move steadily toward our goal of transforming healthcare delivery.
