Let me tell you 😳 something 😊

Some people think I have it easy 😂

Those people don’t know what I’ve gone through obviously.

After 8 months in hospital, now 10 months at home, it’s still hard.

I have good days where I can walk with my walker to the truck, get in using a step that was made for me, and then go to breakfast (getting out, walking in, coming back out, getting in truck after slipping & sliding on ice); then go shopping with which I do use my electric wheelchair in Costco; get back in the truck with my step again; come home & walk into the house.

The next day go to physio - have a great class and walk twice with my walking poles ❤️

Then comes the dire part ——-
Walk out to the truck & try and get in. Should be easy right???

Well that’s where you’re wrong !

It took three people, using my transfer belt (which I carry in my walker just in case), to get my butt up to the seat in the truck. Almost fell once, which would have not been good.

MS is like that! You have great days and end up doing too much! The next day you could start out great and then BAM you lose all control; you have no energy or control of any muscles. It SUCKS😥

So when you see me out and about, please smile at me, don’t turn the other way or look pitifully at me. I’m out and about and having a good day. If you know me personally, then stop and say hi. I’ll try to do that as well. Some people I remember and some, unfortunately I don’t. But it’s ok. If you jog my memory with something that we were involved with together, my memory will flood back in.

You see MS - Multiple sclerosis is caused by your immune system mistakenly attacking the brain and nerves. It's not clear why this happens but it may be a combination of genetic and environmental factors.

MS is an autoimmune condition, which means your immune system mistakes part of your body for a foreign substance and attacks it.

In the case of MS, it attacks the myelin sheath in the brain and spinal cord.

This is the layer that surrounds your nerves, protecting them and helping electrical signals travel from the brain to the rest of the body.

The attacks cause the myelin sheath to become inflamed in small patches (plaques or lesions), which can be seen on an MRI scan.

These patches of inflammation can disrupt the messages travelling along the nerves.

It can slow them down, jumble them, send them the wrong way, or stop them getting through completely.

There is no cure. MS has many stages. I have primary progressive MS. I’m in remission at the moment but where I’m at is my new “normal”.
If I get sick, my MS could and would reboot and cause more lesions to appear this making my body not function even as well as it does.

So no, I’m not going back to a 8-5 (more like 7:30 to 9) “normal” job! The stress is probably what brought on my sickness with the undetected UTI & MS flare in the first place. I have my online business that I can do at my own pace, make daily money and live a comfortable life. It also allows me to travel in the RV and see my grown kids plus 12 grandkids!

If you’re in a similar situation, reach out! It may not be MS….it could be looking after an elderly parent; it could be another illness; it could be skills that you lack; whatever the case….

Such a beautiful story ❤️

I arrived at the address and honked the horn. After waiting a few minutes I honked again. Since this was going to be my last ride of my shift I thought about just driving away, but instead I put the car in park and walked up to the door and knocked.. 'Just a minute', answered a frail, elderly voice. I could hear something being dragged across the floor.

After a long pause, the door opened. A small woman in her 90's stood before me. She was wearing a print dress and a pillbox hat with a veil pinned on it, like somebody out of a 1940's movie.

By her side was a small nylon suitcase. The apartment looked as if no one had lived in it for years. All the furniture was covered with sheets.

There were no clocks on the walls, no knickknacks or utensils on the counters. In the corner was a cardboard box filled with photos and glassware.

'Would you carry my bag out to the car?' she said. I took the suitcase to the cab, then returned to assist the woman.

She took my arm and we walked slowly toward the curb.

She kept thanking me for my kindness. 'It's nothing', I told her.. 'I just try to treat my passengers the way I would want my mother to be treated.'

'Oh, you're such a good boy,’ she said. When we got in the cab, she gave me an address and then asked, 'Could you drive
through downtown?'

'It's not the shortest way,' I answered quickly..

'Oh, I don't mind,' she said. 'I'm in no hurry. I'm on my way to a hospice.’

I looked in the rear-view mirror. Her eyes were glistening. 'I don't have any family left,' she continued in a soft voice.. ‘The doctor says I don't have very long.' I quietly reached over and shut off the meter.

'What route would you like me to take?' I asked.

For the next two hours, we drove through the city. She showed me the building where she had once worked as an elevator operator.

We drove through the neighborhood where she and her husband had lived when they were newlyweds. She had me pull up in front of a furniture warehouse that had once been a ballroom where she had gone dancing as a girl.

Sometimes she'd ask me to slow in front of a particular building or corner and would sit staring into the darkness, saying nothing.

As the first hint of sun was creasing the horizon, she suddenly said, 'I'm tired. Let's go now'.

We drove in silence to the address she had given me. It was a low building, like a small convalescent home, with a driveway that passed under a portico.

Two orderlies came out to the cab as soon as we pulled up. They were solicitous and intent, watching her every move.
They must have been expecting her.

I opened the trunk and took the small suitcase to the door. The woman was already seated in a wheelchair.

'How much do I owe you?' She asked, reaching into her purse.

'Nothing,' I said.

'You have to make a living,' she answered.

'There are other passengers,' I responded.

Almost without thinking, I bent and gave her a hug. She held onto me tightly.

'You gave an old woman a little moment of joy,' she said. 'Thank you.'

I squeezed her hand, and then walked into the dim morning light.. Behind me, a door shut. It was the sound of the closing of a life..

I didn't pick up any more passengers that shift. I drove aimlessly lost in thought. For the rest of that day,I could hardly talk. What if that woman had gotten an angry driver, or one who was impatient to end his shift? What if I had refused to take the run, or had honked once, then driven away?

On a quick review, I don't think that I have done anything more important in my life.

We're conditioned to think that our lives revolve around great moments.

But great moments often catch us unaware-beautifully wrapped in what others may consider a small one.

PEOPLE MAY NOT REMEMBER EXACTLY WHAT YOU DID, OR WHAT YOU SAID ~BUT~ THEY WILL ALWAYS REMEMBER HOW YOU MADE THEM FEEL.❤️❤️

Life may not be the party we hoped for, but while we are here we might as well dance...🙏🏼

Peanut 🥜 butter protein balls

2/3 cup peanut butter (or almond butter works)

1/2 cup semi-sweet or dark chocolate chips (optional)

1 cup old fashioned oats

1/2 cup ground flax seeds (optional for fiber)

2 tablespoons honey 🍯

2 tablespoon vanilla

Mix

Put in fridge 15-30 minutes

Roll into 12 balls

Stick back in fridge

Can be stored up to a week in fridge

Easy protein filled snack to curve your late night hunger cravings!

I add in sone actual protein powder too for extra protein !!

Have you heard of the 21/90 rule ?

This states that it takes 21 days to make a habit and 90 days to make a lifestyle.

Commit a goal for straight 21 days and it will become a habit. And beyond that, if you are able to do a thing for consecutively 90 days, it will become a part of your daily routine. 😊❤️

The study also concluded that, on average, it takes 66 days for a new behavior to become automatic. 66 to 90 forms a concrete automatic pattern in lifestyle changes!

That’s why I always recommend sticking with my belly fat blaster for 90 days!!
Your habit of taking that yummy spoonful of goodness every morning will be automatic!! And the results will be noticed by yourself & others❤️😊

Side note : Your brain likes habits because they’re efficient. When you automate common actions, you free up mental resources for other tasks.

If you try to do everything at once, you probably will fail. HOWEVER, if you take that first step and keep adding one extra thing each day, you WILL succeed!

It’s definitely mindset as well.
You MUST decide that you will succeed and you WILL!

Positive reinforcement! Praise yourself!
Do little sticky notes on your mirror - positive reinforcement !

What would you do OR maybe the better question is what ARE you doing???

Some say a 2nd income stream starting your own home business is risky.

I say only having one income stream is even riskier.

Today you may or may not be working.
Maybe you are home with your children by choice and I applaud you for that !! You’ve got the best and hardest job combined❤️

Maybe you had a job and Because of recent events you no longer have that job and don’t know when you’ll be going back.

Maybe you have a job that you dislike and would truly like to be your own boss!

I’ve been in all of these places!
I’ve been a stay at home mom; then a stay at home mom with a side gig that took me out every night & every weekend - home parties, trade shows, baby showers....

Then I was the working mom who cried every day when I left the kids at a day home because I had to go to work😳

I have had my own brick and mortar biz too and that’s tough! You are responsible for employees, building, equipment, government obligations and the list goes on.

Now I’m back working (my children are now grown adults) BUT I’ve added an online biz that is totally on my own schedule! If I do the work, I’ll get paid (twice daily) with bonuses (like today)!
If I don’t do the work I don’t get paid! But it’s my choice and on my timeline.

Is it easy - heck no!! and if anyone tells you that having your own online biz will be easy and you’ll make oodles of money right away - don’t walk - RUN the other way because they’re fibbing!

HOWEVER There’s more rewards with the company that i’m with than just money!
It’s the products, the culture, the extensive online training, the support and the new clients who become friends that counts so much more than just the money!

In this company I get to truly HELP people better their health and if they choose to join me, their wealth.

I’m not where I want to be on either journey YET! 😊❤️ but I promised myself I’ll huger there.

Sugar - what sugar ???

Just wanted to give you a visual to show you all the amount of sugar in sodas!

Can you imagine what it looks like if you ate a bad meal- how much garbage it is in just one bad item? And I know I indulge too - no one’s perfect least of all me. (Confession - I love chocolate 😳❤️)

But making healthy choices more often than not, is just good for your body, your mind and your soul.

When you make healthy choices, add some good nutritional supplements and start drinking more water, inevitably you will succeed in losing pounds and inches.

Remember your scale is not always your friend and your clothing is a better judgement of your loss. You can lose inches and the scale will not show a thing!

You will be extremely happy when you start dropping those few lbs and consistently do do. Because it’s in all of us to get healthier!

Well here’s a little recipe for you either way and it’s fantastic ❤️. (BTW avocado is great for you!! ) 😊❤️

Avocado Chicken Salad
It’s what’s for dinner!!

INGREDIENTS
2 boneless skinless chicken breasts, poached and cut into bite-sized pieces
2 avocados, cubed
1 small mango, cubed
1 c. grape tomatoes, quartered
1/2 c. fresh or frozen corn
1/4 red onion, thinly sliced

FOR DRESSING
1/4 c. lime juice
3 tbsp. extra-virgin olive oil
2 tbsp. freshly chopped cilantro
1 tbsp. minced jalapenño
2 tsp. honey
Kosher salt
Freshly ground black pepper

DIRECTIONS
1. Make dressing: In a medium bowl, whisk to combine dressing ingredients and season with salt and pepper.
2. In a large bowl, combine salad ingredients and prepared dressing. Gently toss until salad is coated in dressing, then season to taste with salt and pepper.
