Modern life presents particular barriers to embodiment. We're constantly on "go" and it can be hard to "find" our flow. When I'm not connected to my body due to travel or a busy week, my life reflects it: poor sleep, more snippiness, or maybe a mind full of extra chatter. Overwhelm creeps in, and I can feel lost in the chaos "I don't know where to start... what was I just working on or doing? Everyone needs something! Agh! Slow down!". 🌿

Thankfully, my bounce-back rate is evolving ever faster. Often, the solution to "finding" my flow is removing the mental chatter that's blocking it. When I reconnect with my body, slow into sensation, release stored tension, and find even a split second of stillness, the way forward is always shown. Reorganization happens, new solutions arise, and flow returns. It's incredibly reliable, like a wave. 🌊

Contraction dissolves into relaxation again and again, evolving into a life of greater ease. This is the gift of embodiment. When we can get past the barriers of stress, overwhelm, and stored trauma, we get a well-regulated nervous system— one that can rise to the occasion of the moment with attention and action, and then relax back into ease. A healthy life experience includes both action and relaxation, expressing adaptability and resilience. 🌸

An effective way to overcome barriers to embodiment is having a daily practice to do so. Even 5-10 minutes a day can have compounding effects. Prioritizing good sleep, eating well, and addressing stressors can also be key. Like any other healthy lifestyle intervention, maintenance can be a huge step toward health and it ultimately leads to a richer life experience.
