As summer is infull swing, we want to remind everyone of some crucial lawn care safety tips and health precautions to keep you, your family, and your neighbors safe.
✅ Lawnmower Safety Tips:
• Never use your hands to clear debris from the mower.
• Keep all safety guards and switches in place.
• Only mow when the ground is dry, and wear protective gear like goggles and closed-toe shoes.
• Do not allow children near an active mower.
• NEVER operate a mower while under the influence of alcohol.
🚫 Most importantly, DO NOT blow grass clippings or trimmings into the roadway, especially in hills and or curves.
Loose grass in the road can be extremely hazardous for motorcyclists, off road vehicles and bicyclists, causing loss of traction and serious crashes. Always direct clippings back toward your lawn or into a proper disposal area.
🔥 Summer Health Precautions:
• Stay hydrated and take breaks in shaded or cool areas.
• Avoid mowing during the peak heat of the day (usually 10 AM - 4 PM).
• Use sunscreen, and wear light, breathable clothing.
• Be alert for signs of heat exhaustion: dizziness, nausea, heavy sweating, and fatigue.
Let’s all do our part to keep our lawns neat, our streets safe, and our neighbors healthy. Your attention to these details can prevent serious injury and help everyone enjoy the summer safely!
