Marin City Health & Wellness Center is hosting a special event for National Health Center Week 2025 on Wednesday, August 6 at 100 Phillips Drive, Marin City & 6301 Third Street — and you’re invited!

In the spirit of this year’s theme, “Past • Present • Future,” we’re coming together with patients, staff, board members, and local leaders (including our Congressman) to honor the legacy and future of community-based care.

July is Disability Pride Month, and July 26 marks the 34th anniversary of the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA).

We celebrate the disability community and continue to push for health care that is inclusive, accessible and equitable for everyone.

The ADA was a landmark civil rights law, but true accessibility goes beyond compliance. It means listening, removing barriers, and treating patients with dignity and respect. Whether visible or not, all disabilities deserve recognition, accommodation and care.

🚨 Medicaid cuts are now law. What’s next?

On July 3, the president signed sweeping changes to Medicaid into law. These changes include:

Work requirements for some adults
New copays for low-income patients
More frequent eligibility checks
Cuts to federal funding, especially in underserved and rural communities

Millions could lose health coverage in the coming years, including many in our own neighborhoods.

Here’s what you can do:

🗳 Learn how your representatives voted
🧠 Stay informed about how these changes will roll out
💬 Talk with family and friends about what’s at stake
📅 Be ready to vote in upcoming elections — local, state and national

At MCHWC, we are not backing down. We will continue to fight for access to care and support the communities most impacted.

🌊 Teach kids how to swim
🌊 Use life jackets near open water
🌊 Keep a phone nearby in case of emergency
🌊 Learn CPR.
