Evaporative Dry Eye ποΈπ¨
Evaporative dry eye happens when your tears dry up too quickly, even though your eyes may be making enough tears.
π§ Why does this happen?
The outer oil layer of your tears isnβt working properly β often due to blocked or poor-quality oil glands (meibomian glands). Without enough oil, tears evaporate faster.
π₯ Common symptoms
Burning or stinging
Gritty or sandy feeling
Redness
Blurry vision that comes and goes
Worse with screens, air-conditioning, or wind
π Common causes
Meibomian gland dysfunction (MGD)
Prolonged screen use (less blinking)
Contact lens wear
Dry or air-conditioned environment
