✨🎄 There’s nothing quite like that moment when the holidays click into place — when the lights glow, the tree sparkles, and the season truly begins. ✨🎄

For me, it’s not just the lights that make my home feel festive… it’s the meaningful decorations. The ones made slowly, joyfully, stitch by stitch. And honestly? I can’t think of anything more special than adorning my tree with something crafted by my own hands. 🧶❤️

These hand-knit ornaments — from ARNE & CARLOS 2024 Christmas Ball Collection — have been pure joy to create.
Meditative, charming, and so full of personality. I’m absolutely smitten with them… and seeing them appear on the tree (with just a snap 😉) makes it all the more magical.

And since, for me, this weekend is the gateway into the holiday season… 🌟
The vibe this weekend at Knit Pray Love Retreat at Kripalu Center for Yoga & Healthwill be cozy and pure winter-welcome comfort. (And who knows… one or two of these ornaments may make a special appearance. 😉🎄)

❄️🪾✨ This time of year always feels like the beginning of my slow transition inward. Just like nature, I feel myself softening, quieting, tucking into a kind of inner dormancy — not to disappear, but to recharge.

When I came across this quote, it stopped me in my tracks:

“There are two places you need to go often:The place that heals you.The place that inspires you.”

As I settle into this more reflective season, these words feel like gentle guideposts — almost like internal destinations I can visit again and again. A reminder that healing and inspiration aren’t luxuries… they are nourishment. They help us reset, reconnect, and rise into what’s next.

So I’m taking this quote with me into the weeks ahead as a soft compass. 💛

Where are the places — inward or outward — that heal you? Where do you like to go when you need to be inspired? I’d love to hear, drop it in the comments below 👇🏽.

🎁✨ Proof that a little creativity can turn chaos into cozy.

One of my favorite things about knitting is the transformation. What looks like a messy pile of yarn and some needles to most people… looks like possibility to me. 🧶

There’s creativity, patience, rhythm, and a sprinkle of holiday magic woven into every loop. Watching it go from chaos to cozy — from tangled to twinkly — never gets old. 🎄💫

Here’s to the makers, the doers, the dreamers who see potential where others see a pile of yarn. ❤️

It’s beginning to look a lot like Christmas… at least in my den! 😍 I just can’t help myself — I love the holidays so much that I’m getting started early this year. There’s something so cozy and nostalgic about putting on holiday music (like we did when I was a kid 🎶) or a classic Christmas movie in the background 🎥 and just going to town with twinkle lights, ornaments, and all the festive feels. 🎁💫

Do you decorate?
When do you start?
Do you have a ritual or tradition that kicks off your holiday season? ❤️

I’ve started knitting Christmas ornaments this year — something I’ve dreamed about doing for a long time — and wow, it’s been so much more meaningful than I imagined.

Like all my knitting, it’s creative, mindful, and meditative… but this project feels especially personal. When I was growing up, my mom made the most beautiful beaded ornaments — full of ribbons, tassels, beads, and sequins. Every year, when it was time to decorate, I’d search for those first. They made the tree feel ours — infused with love and memory. 💖

Now, as I sit knitting these little treasures, I feel like I’m carrying that tradition forward in my own way. Each one is slow, intentional, and deeply satisfying to make. The stranded colorwork keeps me joyfully absorbed — both hands working, eyes following the chart, heart fully in the process.

I don’t know how many will make it onto my tree this year, and honestly… it doesn’t matter. This isn’t about finishing — it’s about being with the making. About creating beauty, presence, and connection — one stitch at a time. 🌟

And I’m sure I’ll still be making these little ornaments during Knit Pray Love next month Kripalu Center for Yoga & Health! 🧶💗 If you’d love a weekend of moving, making, and meditating, come join me November 28–30 — it’s the perfect way to welcome the season with intention and joy.

🐑🧶 First-Time Fiber Festival Magic! 🍁✨

I’m slightly embarrassed to admit that until last weekend, I had never been to a fiber festival! 🙈 But wow — what an introduction the Vermont Sheep & Wool Festival was.
The drive up was stunning — pure New England fall beauty — and the company couldn’t have been better. 💛 Maureen and I had the best time wandering from booth to booth, meeting spinners, dyers, and makers, and of course, ooohing and aaahing over every skein of yarn we touched ... like the ones I bought from Junction Fiber Mill. 😍
We marveled at the exhibits — especially the one showing the process from raw fleece to finished yarn. The smell of lanolin, the tactile beauty of each stage… it gave me a whole new appreciation for what’s on my needles. 🐑✨
Everywhere we turned, there were people sharing their fiber love — guilds and associations showcasing spinning, weaving, felting, rug hooking, tatting, finger knitting — even a kids’ corner where little hands got to explore the magic of fiber arts! 🎨🧵 We caught a sheepherding demo, listened to live music, and enjoyed yummy local food under the most phenomenal autumn sky. 🌤️🍂
But the best part of the day? Visiting Designers Alley, surprising Jill-Knit Sisu at her booth, and finally meeting her mom Sue in person! 🥰 Such a joy-filled moment to wrap up an already perfect day.
Huge thanks to Maureen for the invitation — I’m officially hooked (pun intended 😉). Can’t wait for my next fiber festival!

What’s your favorite fiber fest to attend? 🧶💫

👜 Tote-ally Obsessed 🙋‍♀️✨

Confession time: I have an embarrassingly large collection of tote bags. All sizes, all shapes, all materials — I just can’t help myself. Tote bags are my weakness. 😅

When I moved to the Berkshires, I stumbled on the most amazing local company: Blue Q. And let me tell you… they TOTALLY feed my obsession. Their bags (and so much more!) are fun, funky, a little irreverent, and super quirky. Plus — they partner with local businesses, are eco-conscious, and give back both locally and globally. 🌍💚

Favorites? Ohhh yes:
✨ The Shoulder Tote (the top zipper + front pocket = perfection)
✨ The Big Bags (so roomy, so fun!)
✨ And don’t even get me started on their Pouches — the Jumbo Pouch is perfect for printed patterns or small projects, and the Zipper Pouch + Pencil Case Pouch ones are ideal for notions and tiny WIPs. 🧶✏️

Just so you know — nobody at Blue Q knows who I am, and I don’t get a kickback. I just LOVE their stuff. It’s sustainable, it holds up for years, and it makes me smile every time I grab a bag. 💛

Are you a fellow tote bag collector… or should I say tote-hoarder? 😉

Shop Blue Q's tote bags collection made from sustainable materials. Choose from our cute and adorable options to elevate your style.

🌿 Rest is Sacred 🌙

Lately, the message of rest keeps showing up for me — in conversations, on social media, even in the books that find their way into my hands.

This gem comes from Octavia F. Raheem’s Rest is Sacred, and it’s exactly what I needed to hear: rest isn’t a luxury, it’s a practice… and a sacred one at that.

I hope that this weekend — or sometime very soon — you give yourself full permission to pause, soften, and receive the nourishment that only true rest can bring.

Because rest isn’t “doing nothing.” Rest is how we remember ourselves. 💛

What’s one way you’re making space for rest in your life right now?

✨ The Generosity of Humans ✨

Every now and then, someone reaches across the threads of time, space, and life experience to offer a gift that touches your heart in the most unexpected way.

A wonderful person I had the pleasure of connection with thru Kripalu, Randy, knowing about my love of knitting, generously loaned me a very special book. It was written by his mother-in-law, Bobbie, who spent years traveling across the UK and beyond to research and document knitting techniques at their source. This beautiful book is rare to find, yet he entrusted me with one of his copies. 💞

I was absolutely mesmerized. Bobbie’s stories of travel, her deep dedication to meeting people, learning their traditions, and sharing their craft which deeply moved me. This wasn’t modern jet-set travel—this was old-school, hard-earned wisdom gathered with intention, reverence, and love. And then, with great generosity, she gathered it all and shared it in this book.

It reminded me how lives that may seem unrelated—yoga teacher, knitter, traveler, historian—can intersect in deeply meaningful ways. When we slow down enough to really see each other, we often find unexpected common threads. 🧶🕊️

Thank you, Randy, for seeing me—and for trusting me with this treasure. Your gesture meant more than you know.

Let’s keep weaving this human tapestry together—with curiosity, kindness, and connection. 🤝💗
