Next Step Collaborative Conference-
Martina Weber of Butler County Mental Health and Addiction Recovery Services Board talked this afternoon about Ohio's Handle With Care Model. The goal of Handle With Care is to alert a child's school of traumatic events that have occurred outside of the school day. This provides teachers and counselors with the necessary information to care for students properly.

Next Step Collaborative Conference-
Dr. Christine Wilder from UC Health provided insight this morning regarding addiction as a chronic illness. Dr. Wilder provided crucial tools when working with mothers with substance use disorder (SUD). This includes person-first language, educating yourself concerning addiction, remaining non-judgmental and avoiding the stigmatization of substance use. Most notably, she included seeking Peer Support for mothers as this resource can often be invaluable.
