This morning, Dave made his way to the Roker Riviera to join the Shrimp Platoon Cold Water Therapy for a refreshing cold water dip.

There are so many activities happening across the North East aimed at supporting veterans, serving forces, and their families. Participating in events like this not only offers a chance to try something new but also highlights the incredible benefits of cold water therapy.

Cold water therapy is known for its numerous health benefits, including improved circulation, reduced inflammation, and enhanced mood. The shock of cold water can stimulate the release of endorphins, helping to alleviate stress and anxiety. Additionally, regular exposure to cold water can boost the immune system and increase resilience to stress.

Gatherings like these are a great way to connect with others who share similar experiences. Shrimp Platoon meet every Saturday at 7.45am in the car park next to Sue’s Cafe.

Here’s to more invigorating dips in the future! Looking forward to joining the Shrimp Platoon again soon! 🫡🦐
