🕉️ *Aṣṭa Mātrkās and the 51 Sanskrit Letters*

The fifty-one letters of the Sanskrit alphabet — known as Mātrkās, Varṇas, or Bīja Mantras — are considered sacred vibrations of the universe. These are traditionally grouped into eight divisions, collectively called the Aṣṭa Mātrkās (Eight Divine Mothers).

Each group is presided over by a form of the Supreme Goddess (Ādi Parāśakti) and corresponds to a different set of phonemes in Sanskrit.

🔹 The Eight Mātrkā Groups and Their Goddesses:

1. *Mahalakṣmī*
– Letters: 16 Vowels (A to Ah)
– Represents: The primal sound, the creative potential of the cosmos.

2. *Brāhmī*
– Letters: 5 consonants of the Ka group (Ka to Ṅa)
– Aspect: Power of knowledge and creation.

3. *Maheśvarī*
– Letters: 5 consonants of the Ca group (Ca to Ña)
– Aspect: Transformative wisdom.

4. *Kaumārī*
– Letters: 5 consonants of the Ṭa group (Ṭa to Ṇa)
– Aspect: Youthful energy and courage.

5. *Vaiṣṇavī*
– Letters: 5 consonants of the Ta group (Ta to Na)
– Aspect: Preservation and divine order.

6. *Vārāhī*
– Letters: 5 consonants of the Pa group (Pa to Ma)
– Aspect: Strength and protection.

7. *Aindrī (Indrāṇī)*
– Letters: 4 consonants of the Ya group (Ya to Va)
– Aspect: Power and sovereignty.

8. *Cāmuṇḍā*
– Letters: 6 consonants of the Śa group (Śa to Kṣa)
– Aspect: Fierce liberation and transcendence.
