Happy Spring Equinox — Ostara Blessings to All!
The 20th of March we celebrate balance, renewal, and the returning light.
Known as Ostara in ancient Germanic and pagan traditions, this sacred day marks the moment when day and night are equal — a turning point from the introspective quiet of winter toward the blossoming life of spring.
The festival is named after the goddess Ēostre (or Ostara), a deity of dawn, fertility, and new beginnings. She’s often symbolized by hares and eggs — both powerful icons of life and rebirth, and later adapted into modern Easter celebrations.
Across cultures, this time of year has always held deep meaning:
In Persia, it’s celebrated as Nowruz, the New Year.
In Japan, it’s Shunbun no Hi, honoring ancestors and the beauty of nature.
Ancient Celts and Norse peoples welcomed it with fire rituals, planting, and feasts.
During the christianization it transformed into Easter celebration.
Over centuries, Ostara’s themes were absorbed and reimagined — yet the essence remains: the Earth reawakens, hope is reborn, and life begins again.
So plant a seed, light a candle, or step into the sunshine.
May this season bring you clarity, creativity, and renewal.
Blessed Ostara, and Happy Equinox!
