Chinese Herbal Medicine is a very effective method of treating many health challenges! Whether you struggle with physical pain, emotional balance, focus, inflammatory conditions, difficulty sleeping, sports injuries, or would simply like to maintain your physical, emotional, and spiritual health, I offer consultations to determine your Chinese Medicine diagnosis, and prescribe the right formula for you. We can work together in person at my office, or through email, from the comfort of your own home. Pricing is $90 for your consultation, and then the cost of your herbal formula (generally $25-$65). The Herbs will be shipped directly to you, and are easy to take, either in pill form, or extract granules that you simply add water to to make a tea! Ongoing herbal treatment can make a huge difference in your health, as you take them everyday and slowly over time, see and feel the positive effects.

I was asked a very common question today by a patient, "What else is Acupuncture good for?" I love this question, because it gives me an opportunity to discuss the underlying framework and diagnostic methods of Chinese Medicine, and that it is a complete system of medicine, capable of addressing most health challenges.

Winter is on its way here in the driftless! As I write, the snow is flying here in Soldier’s Grove.. One of the things I love about Chinese Medicine is the classic texts that we have to guide us. The Huang Di Nei Jing (ca. 250 BCE) states in the very first chapter that we must follow the seasons in our actions, minds, and spirits. As winter approaches we are asked to slow down, go to bed early and rise late.. Allow ourselves to regenerate in the same way that the trees and animals do!

One herbal formula that comes to mind this time of year is “Gui Zhi Tang”. Originally it was used to treat the common cold in people who had low energy (Qi). I like to use it as a “Winter Warmer”. A cup here and there during the cold months to help support our immune system and warm us up. The best news is that it tastes great! .. cinnamon twigs being one of its main ingredients.

I have a fresh batch of “Gui Zhi Tang” on its way for those who would like to try some.. just message me and I will get you a box!
