📢 Important Update Regarding the Wellness Expo

The Vital Aging Network (VAN) remains committed to fostering vibrant and meaningful aging in our community. We are grateful for the continued support of our partners, presenters, vendors, and community members who help make our initiatives possible.

At this time, we have made the difficult decision to postpone our upcoming Wellness Expo originally scheduled for May 3, 2025, as we focus on strengthening our internal operations. While this was not an easy choice, we believe it is necessary to ensure VAN remains strong and sustainable for the future.

We extend our heartfelt gratitude to the presenters and vendors who had already signed up to participate, as well as to our valued partner, M Health Fairview, for their support. Your contributions and commitment to this meaningful event are deeply appreciated.

Looking Ahead
We plan to reschedule the Wellness Expo for fall 2025 and will share details as plans come together. We look forward to bringing this important event to the community and hope you will join us when a new date is confirmed.

Staying Connected
While the event is postponed, our work continues! Here are some ways you can stay engaged with VAN:
✅ Follow us on Facebook for updates and future event details.
✅ Join our email list to receive the latest news about VAN’s programs and upcoming opportunities.
✅ Consider volunteering or making a donation to help sustain our mission.

Your support and dedication to our mission mean the world to us, and we can’t wait to reconnect with you soon!

If you have any questions or would like to discuss future participation, please reach out to Vickie Snyder at vsnyder@vanmn.org.

Thank you for being a part of the VAN community!

Great way to experience parks!

Having fun 🎶 isn't hard 🎵 when you've got 🎶 a state parks library pass 😎

Did you know that you can check out a state parks permit from the library? Minnesota Department of Natural Resources has partnered with certain libraries across the state to provide free, 7-day state park passes for those interested in visiting a state park or recreation area. Explore a new state park, learn something new at a naturalist program, or simply enjoy the beauty of winter without worrying about the vehicle permit! Park passes are only valid for the vehicle entrance fee, so if you’d like to camp, you’ll still need to make and pay for camping reservations.

Each library might check out these passes differently, so call ahead for more information on your local library's policies. Once checked out, place the pass on your dashboard so it is visible to park staff. No need to return them—just recycle and let others know about this great program!

This year, we want to expand the library program to even more libraries! Where else do we need state park library passes? Let us know in the comments below. We’ll announce how libraries can apply to participate later this spring.
