Things I See

Things I See This page is about the things I see due to something called Charles Bonnet Syndrome.

Good morning , I haven’t quite figured things out for this page. I made myself “the eye” to help me see a little more for the time being. Basically I taped two jewelers lenses together and then taped them to a pair of dollar tree glasses with the lenses popped out. It’s working, somewhat, for now. I’m stubborn and therefore will try anything to help me see things longer.
I was thinking of starting a go fund me page, but thought that may be out of line to create one for myself.
My reason for the page is to help pay for a trip to the Netherlands, Iceland, or any other country over yonder that has skies blanketed with the northern lights. I have always wanted to see them and from everything I’ve learned and been told, that is the place to go.
As with most people life has a budget and traveling half way around the world just so I can look at the sky and marvel isn’t included in ours. That said, I’m sure people have things or places they would like to see if they knew they wouldn’t be able to see anything before long. I’m truly amazed at how quickly my vision is failing. It was stable (not good but stable) for some time that I was hoping it would stay that way. Surprise!!! It isn’t. I’ll keep thinking about the go fund me and other possibilities. My visions stories will continue with my next post.

Resistance is futile

Hello my dear friends and family. Life has been a bit challenging over the past years. About six months or so ago I started seeing things that shouldn’t be. Things like spiders all over my ceiling, ducks swimming in my kitchen sink and blood dripping down the walls of my shower. Thinking I was going crazy, I called my doctor. Turns out I have a syndrome called Charles Bonnet Syndrome. Basically, it is a condition that causes people who have lost some or all of their vision to see things that aren’t there. People who are born blind do not have this issue. The syndrome can cause you to see anything you have ever seen throughout your life. Anything! Life events, movies, tv. Anything.
The visions are very detailed and realistic. It is sort of like watching a movie or sitting somewhere and watching people live their lives. When it gets scary is when you open your eyes and someone is there that shouldn’t be. Or when you are in the shower and look down to see blood covering your hands and the drain breathing. It sure makes me wish I had never watched a horror movie in my life.
Being that this is rather rare and that I fully feel the reason I am going through this is to be able to help others going through the same things. I have decided that I’d write about what I see. Sometimes it is scary. Sometimes sad and sometimes it can even be funny.
I hope you all enjoy my thoughts and imagery. Please forgive me if it is scattered at times.
Thank you
