Panchakarma therapy is an integral part of Ayurvedic treatment. Panchakarma treatment envisages the bio cleansing regimen intended to eliminate the toxic elements of the body. Prior to these Purva karmas are given to the patient to prepare for shodhana.
Swedana karma is one such pre therapeutic procedure in panchakarma. Potali sweda/pinda sweda(ayurvedic kizhi), one among the swedana karma plays an important role in the field of ayurveda.
