We’re proud to announce that Pensacola International Airport (PNS) is the newest member of the global Hidden Disabilities Sunflower network!

The Sunflower discreetly indicates that the wearer has a non-visible disability and may need extra time, understanding, or assistance. This simple symbol is a powerful step toward creating a more inclusive and accessible travel experience.

With over 330 airports and 22 airlines worldwide already part of the Sunflower network, PNS is joining a global commitment to supporting individuals with non-visible disabilities.

By joining the Sunflower program, Worcester Regional Airport reaffirms its commitment to creating an environment where everyone feels seen, supported, and welcomed. Together, we’re building a more inclusive world.

The Atlantic City International Airport has adopted the Hidden Disabilities Sunflower to support and raise awareness of those with a non-visible disability. The Sunflower lanyards are being introduced at ACY for our passengers. In addition to making the Sunflower lanyards available to customers and colleagues with an invisible disability, we’ve trained our staff to identify the Sunflower, gain a deeper understanding of nonvisible disabilities and learn how to support Sunflower wearers. We’re proud to announce the launch of the Hidden Disabilities Sunflower in Poland Słonecznik - HD Sunflower in partnership with Fundacja Autistic Adults on Tour, which supports young adults who are not fully independent.

The Hidden Disabilities Sunflower is now helping people with non-visible disabilities across Poland feel more confident and supported—whether they are traveling, shopping, at leisure, or at work.

Chopin Airport, Kraków Airport, and Modlin Airport have already joined the Sunflower program, making air travel more accessible for everyone.

Today, buildings in regional cities across Poland will be illuminated in yellow and green, or display the Sunflower symbol on a green background, showing solidarity and support for individuals with non-visible disabilities.

The official launch event took place in Warsaw on March 13, 2025, with the participation of:
* Representatives of PPL S.A.
* People with hidden disabilities from Fundacja Autistic Adults on Tour
* Accessibility experts and advocacy organizations

The cards can be personalized with the following information:

* Your name
* Your photo
* 1 or 2 emergency contacts information for easy access to support
* Up to 5 icons to describe the assistance you may need. These icons help convey your needs clearly and effectively.

USA Sunflower highlights 2024

As we wrap up year, we would like to take a moment to look back on some of our Sunflower highlights from the USA…

United Airlines became the first U.S. airline to join the Sunflower. They will be officially launching the Sunflower program in Spring 2025.

Sesame Place Philadelphia became the first theme park in the U.S. to join the Sunflower. They will be officially launching the Sunflower program in Spring 2025.

Virgin Hotels Las Vegas became the first hotel and business in Las Vegas to embrace and launch the Sunflower for guests and staff.

The LEGO Group launched the Sunflower globally, including across the U.S. and U.S. online store.

Portland Trail Blazers became the first Major League Basketball team in the U.S. to become members of the Sunflower program. They will be launching the Sunflower in 2025. An announcement will be shared across our social media pages once their Sunflower training is complete and they are ready to officially launch!

Bradley University and CSU Channel Islands both launched the Sunflower to make their campuses more accessible for people with non-apparent disabilities and conditions.

Gates Foundation join the Sunflower and helped spread Sunflower awareness to their locations around the world.

Visit LEX and Quad Cities both launched the Sunflower to help make their communities Sunflower friendly for residents and visitors.

Many new US airports including Chicago O'Hare International Airport, Chicago Midway International Airport, Nashville International Airport, MidAmerica St. Louis Airport (BLV) and Southwest Florida International Airport (RSW) have launched the Sunflower program this year along with other businesses in all sectors across the country.

We will be going into 2025 with a lot of Sunflower momentum from this year and we are so grateful to all of you for your continued support to keep the Sunflower growing!

.United Airlines is proud to be the first airline in the U.S. to join the Hidden Disabilities Sunflower program.

Launching in Spring 2025, the Sunflower is designed for guests with non-visible disabilities or conditions who may need extra help, understanding or simply a little more time.

Those with a non-apparent disability or condition may choose to wear a Sunflower lanyard, pin, wristband or sticker to make their disability visible to United Airlines employees.
