Hi 👋👋 I just finished my first week as a dietitian!

It was pretty hectic / stressful - as all first weeks are. But I loved it and feel like I’m starting to settle in!

For those wondering I am working in a hospital and my current caseload is all inpatient - renal, gastro and respiratory! 🏥

I am NOT taking clients privately (maybe one day in the future). If you want to see a dietitian please reach out to your doctor or have a look at website, they can help you find a dietitian near you 🥰

Did you know… Exposing your baby from an early age (within the first 12 months) to common allergenic foods can reduce the risk of developing a food allergy later in life?

The 9 common allergen foods include:
Eggs
Peanuts
Tree nuts
Wheat
Cow’s milk (dairy)
Crustaceans
Fish
Soy
Sesame

Introduce common allergen foods at the same time as introducing other solids! So around 6 months of age (but not before 4 months). Introduce them one at a time so you can keep track of how your baby reacts to these allergenic foods.

Navigating through this as a new parent can be confusing. If you have any questions or concerns please see your . 💛

Seriously one of my favourite salads ever. 🥗

Crunchy noodle salad + halloumi. If you haven’t tried halloumi before this is your sign!

You can make the salad from scratch following the recipe below. Or if you’re like me and prefer something quicker you can buy the salad mix in the pre-made salad section at your grocery store (most coles/IGAs/woolies have them) just look for ‘Asian Crunchy Noodle Salad’.

Ingredients:
1/4 red cabbage, finely shredded
1/4 green cabbage, finely shredded
1 carrot, shredded
60g leafy mix
125g corn kernels
2 tbs soy sauce
1 lime, juiced
1 tbs sesame oil
100g fried noodles
1 tbsp olive oil
225g halloumi

Method:
1. Place cabbage, carrot, corn and the leafy mix together in a bowl.
2. Combine soy sauce, lime juice and sesame oil.
3. Add noodles to salad and drizzle over dressing. Toss to combine.
4. Add olive oil and sliced halloumi to a pan over medium heat till halloumi turns golden brown.
5. Add halloumi to salad and enjoy whilst still hot! 🤤

P.S. this could also work really well with chicken, salmon, eggs or tofu if halloumi is not for you. Xx
