Anyone else in this blissful phase of life where you genuinely don’t know if you’ve got an autoimmune condition, if you’re stuck in survival mode, or if it’s just perimenopause being a petty b!%?

Is it MCAS, POTS, or Fibromyalgia?

Is it your kid yelling “MOM” for the 97th time today?

Is it your fried nervous system screaming “please stop overfunctioning” while you pour your 4th coffee?

Is it the fact that you’re in your 40s and your body temp now changes every 3 minutes like a broken thermostat?

Can’t drink wine anymore, but you’d sell your soul for a nap.

Wake up soaked through your PJs, then lie awake Googling if it’s your hormones, your trauma, or the gluten you ate in 2011.

Here’s the fun part:
It’s probably all of it.

Your body is wise enough to say “Hey, you can’t push like you used to.”

Your nervous system is cooked enough to say “Hey, could you maybe stop rescuing everyone else?”

And your hormones? They’re here for the chaos, not the calm.

You don’t need a fix.

You need capacity.
You need rest.
You need rage.

You need the audacity to say “no” to everything that doesn’t nourish you - because your body sure as hell will if you don’t.

Here’s to the sweat, the rage, the boundaries, and the nervous system that still wants you alive, not just surviving.

You’ll find a few somatic practices on this page.

I’ll never pretend they don’t matter.

They do (a lot).

They help your body exhale when it’s bracing for disaster.

They help send the signal “Hey, you’re safe now.”

But that’s the thing nobody says out loud:

They don’t make you safe on their own.

A cold plunge can’t hold a boundary for you.

Butterfly taps won’t quit your job for you.

Humming in your car won’t tell your family, your partner, or your boss the truth you’ve been swallowing for 15 years.

Your body didn’t land in survival mode because you forgot to gargle.

It landed here because you learned to override your own truth just to survive.

To shut up the part of you that raged, wanted, needed.

To stay small enough, nice enough, digestible enough so no one left.

So here’s the real sequence nobody’s trending:

You take the brave (tolerable) step first.

You say the thing.
You hold the no.
You welcome the anger.
You tell the truth.

Then you give your body a practice - not to fix it, but to anchor the fact that you just did something new and didn’t die.

To show your amygdala: “We’re safe now. We can do this again.”

That’s how capacity grows.

That’s how the new life builds.

That’s why I don’t drop a new “bio-hack” on here every week - because the practice isn’t the hero.

You are.

Your body is.

Its voice is.

The life you build around that voice is what heals you.

Someone asks me for a somatic hack and I want to ask them right back:

What is your body trying to run from?
What does your body think it can’t escape?
What threat is so big, your system decided your only option is to shut down?

Sure, I can hand you a breathwork practice. A butterfly tap. A body squeeze.

But here’s the truth: no practice will stop the threat that’s sounding the alarm in the first place.

Most people want a regulation hack to tolerate the life they’re living.

To keep the peace.

To not rock the boat.

To shut up the signal that’s been screaming, “This job is killing me.” “This boundary is gone.” “This relationship is gutting me.” “I’ve lost myself.”

When you slap a practice on top of that and call it healing… you’re not regulating.

You’re overriding.

You’re telling your body, “Hush now. Be nice. Don’t ruffle feathers.”

You’re parenting yourself the same way your caregivers did when they taught you to abandon your truth just to survive.

Somatic work isn’t about forcing yourself to be calm while you sit inside a life that’s still hurting you.

The real work is listening for the threat, the fear, the impossible bind that keeps you stuck.

It’s deciding what to do about it:
→ Remove it.
→ Shift your interpretation of it.
→ Fight it.
→ Walk away from it.

Then - then - you use a somatic practice to show your body you’re safe now to do the thing you never could before.

Otherwise, all you’re doing is telling your nervous system to shut up and look pretty.

Another parent saying, “Be quiet. Be calm. Don’t bother me with your big feelings.”

That is not the work.

Not here.

Here, we listen.

We stay present with the tantrum.

We get curious about what the signal is asking for.

We stop being the parent who says, “You should be seen and not heard.”

I don’t help you shut up your survival parts.

I help you hear them RAGE so you can decide, for the first time maybe ever, what comes next.

So, sure, I have a hack for you.

It’s 6:43 PM.

You’re standing in the kitchen scrolling “easy dinners with chicken” for the fourth time this week.

You’ve got half-wilted spinach, three open boxes of pasta, and a kid asking if goldfish crackers count as dinner.

You reheat yesterday’s coffee instead of making food.

You pick at a stale granola bar while telling your partner “I’m fine.”

Your jaw clicks because you haven’t unclenched it since 1994.

Your body knows exactly what’s happening, but can you actually understand it?

Survival mode wears sweatpants and eats whipped cream for dinner - sometimes that’s fine.

Fluency is about context, nuance, and attunement.

It’s about knowing what your body is asking for—and when, how, and why to respond.

When you’re fluent in your nervous system’s language, you stop guessing.

You start communicating, connecting, and leading your life with purpose.

🔥Controversial take: You don’t need to kill off your people-pleaser part.🔥

That part?
She’s helped you survive.

She got you through awkward networking events, PTA fundraisers, and your job in customer service where you smile while being emotionally waterboarded by strangers.

The problem isn’t THAT she shows up.

The problem is WHEN SHE RUNS THE WHOLE DAMN SHOW.

We do need to fit in sometimes.

That’s not fake — that’s functional.

You don’t have to “authentically belong” in every single room you enter.

You just need to know which rooms deserve you — the real, unfiltered, not-smoothing-the-edges version.

People-pleasing becomes a problem when it leaks into every crevasse of our lives.

When we contort ourselves just to keep the peace.

When we forget who we are without the performance.

So no, you don’t need to exile your people-pleaser.

You just need to stop letting her be the star of the show.

💥Nervous system fluency means knowing when to let your people-pleaser part step in, and when she needs to take a step back.

Sometimes regulation isn’t a breathwork practice.

It’s eating the emergency chocolate hidden in the frozen bag of peas while hiding from your kids.

It’s binge-watching Love Is Blind at 11pm knowing full well you’ll regret it... and doing it anyway.

It’s whisper-screaming “I’M FINE” through gritted teeth while making dinosaur-shaped nuggets for dinner.

You don’t need another somatic tool.

You need a gold medal and maybe a nap.

Because yes, nervous system work matters.

But also?

Sometimes survival is the win.

💥Breathe when you can.
💥Cry in the minivan if you need.
💥Eat the chocolate.

And know I see you.
