Reflecting on 2023, I’m grateful for the blessings, lessons, and hardships that shaped me. Every addition and subtraction was a stepping stone for growth.

In 2024, I’m determined not to waste any opportunities. I’m committed to becoming the person my inner child only dared to dream about.

The journey of self-discovery is never-ending.

It took me a while to embrace my strengths and be happy with the person in the mirror.

Without hesitation, I'm proud of who I am.

Is this it? What do I do now?

This is the question we ask ourselves after losing in a tournament.

It compels us to hit the mats as hard as we before competition. So we can roll better, fix our mistakes, and win more often.

But our bodies and mind need time to recover from this exhausting and chaotic event.

Regardless if we beat every opponent or we lost in your first round. Spending time on recovering before hopping back into training will increase our performance on the mat.

Otherwise training will be unsustainable.

To become a beast on the mat we can’t train at 100% all the time. That’s a great way to get injured 🤕

By giving ourselves time to recover, we can catapult our game to new heights when we ramp up training.

DM me “Recovery” to figure out how to check your recovery

Newbreed Tournament in Baltimore was an amazing experience.

It was my first time at a BJJ tournament and I have a ton of respect for each and every one of those competitors.

I’m so proud of my team. This is our 3rd event in just as many months. I wouldn’t be here without them 💪🏾

I can’t wait until I’m competing on the mats 😜

Looking forward to the next one 😬

Can you stop a train with your bare hands?

That's what strength training does to your body.

It prevents injuries from occurring in the first place, allowing us to avoid a train wreck. Which could take months away from Jiu-Jitsu to recover.

It gives us more power and explosiveness to help us dominate on the mat. Pass guards at will and get the setups you want.

Strength training takes you leaps and bounds ahead of your competition.

It's undeniable what it can do for us.

Most people believe they need to spend 1-2 hours in the gym, 4 or more days a week, to make progress.

We create custom strength programs to cut the b/s out so we spend more time doing what we love, rolling on the mats.

DM "strong" If you want to take the guesswork out of strength training.

🛑 Stop!! It doesn't have to be this way!

I thought I had to take a complete break from grappling to recover from injuries.

Only to realize that taking a break from grappling doesn't fix my pain. It just delays it...

Soon enough, I learned that it was about the intensity of my practice and how hard I was drilling. Along with the recovery work I did between rolling and lifting.

It does not have to be a choice between rolling and recovering 🙅🏾‍♂️

You can roll and recover at the same time!

Get stronger without taking breaks and dominate on the mat 💪🏾

DM me "Roll" if you're tired of rolling in pain

Don't Sleep on Recovery 💤

Rolling, Lifting, and Working is only half the battle

Don't get caught slipping

Your body craves recovery and needs to heal

We beat our bodies up with training and sparring, so show your body some love by focusing on healing

When we emphasize recovery, we are rewarded with more stamina, strength, and speed on the mat. This leads to better setups and finishes during matches

Some easy ways to improve recovery are:

1️⃣Drinking a gallon of water a day
2️⃣Avoid caffeine 6 hours before sleeping
3️⃣Keep your eyes off your phone 30 minutes before bed

DM me "recovery" if you want me to send you a guide on maximizing your recovery.

Lift Less and Get Stronger

Wait, how is that even possible?

Here's how...

Rolling more than 4x a week can be hard on our bodies and takes time to recover. And if we couple that with lifting 4-5x a week, we increase our chances of burning out and overtraining.

As we train, there are two things we want to keep in mind when it comes to how often we’re in the gym;

1️⃣The Less we go, the more intentional we need to be with our workouts and lifts.

2️⃣The More we go, the more we need to focus on recovering from Jiu Jitsu AND lifting at the gym.

So by tuning into how often we train and lift we can:

✅Recover better
✅Perform better on the Mat
✅Control the match and play to YOUR strengths.

Spend more time on the Mats instead of the GYM.

DM me "GYM" to get stronger while spending less time in the gym.
