I always wondered why I have these experiences and never realized, until recently, that many others also have them.

I have had these as long as I can remember and seem to only be triggered by low, calming voices. I guess they began when my mother slowly read stories to me at bedtime and in a hush voice.

The sensation was, and still is, mainly on my scalp and makes me feel extremely relaxed.
