Unfortunately, I never had the chance to meet Sharathji in person.
But the gift of parampara means that the teacher of my teacher is also my teacher.
His teachings, and the gratitude, and now the grief for his passing are shared deeply.

While looking for interviews with Sharathji, I came across a conversation with Leslie Hendry, and found these words… like a balm to the heart, and a reminder of why I practice and share Ashtanga in the way I do:

"Silence is the only method to bring peace. Once your mind is silent then everything becomes silent and serene. The whole concept, the purpose of doing yoga is to bring silence, to bring peace to your mind.” ~ Sharath Jois

Thanks to my teacher , for keeping this tradition alive.
To the Shala and to Leslie Hendry for preserving these moments.

May we continue to walk this path with humility and presence.
In silence, in practice, in peace. 🤍

A quiet invitation for those seeking a sense of home in their minds and their bodies.

Each week, I open a space for sincere practice through the practice of presence.

Not to be perfect, not to perform.
But to remember to return to our breath to find a sense of home that is already there in our bodies and our minds.

Whether you are preparing for birth, on your Ashtanga journey, or simply looking for a peaceful place where you can meet yourself, I will be delighted to welcome you.

The Power of a Word
A word can heal. A word can hurt.
So often, we don’t even realize how deeply words can reach. Sometimes we help heal; sometimes, without meaning to, we hurt.

Lately, I’ve been feeling a bit powerless about some things happening with my family in Chile. Being so far away, the thorny question keeps haunting me: What can I do?

I shared this with a dear friend, and his response was simple:
“You look after yourself.”
Simple words, yet they touched me deeply—especially because I tend to do the opposite when I’m sad.

But the truth is, the best we can do is take care of ourselves. It’s not only for our own well-being; it’s also a way to show love, care, and appreciation for those we hold dear—even from afar.

Thank you for the reminder, dear Kamil 🤍

Teachers of unconditional love 🤍 4 years since Sukha's arrival home

When my partner brought up the idea of adopting a new cat, I hesitated. I was still grieving for Flow, my cat who passed away in January 2020. But the heart is big and there is so much love… As I have learnt through practice, there is space for everything within our experience, the joy, the pain, and everything in between. So despite the ache in my chest, the decision was made, we were adopting a cat 🤗

Sukha’s story begins in Granada, Spain, during the pandemic. Born into a cat colony, she was an outcast from the start. Her white fur, while beautiful, made her a target. The other cats saw her as a threat; she was too visible, drawing unwanted attention to their hidden world. She was bullied, attacked, and left to fend for herself. When rescued, she trusted humans more than other cats and had to be separated from the colony. A kind volunteer took her in, offering her a peaceful place while she waited for adoption. And on the 27th of February 2021, she arrived at our home.

Sukha is a beautiful, quiet and gentle soul. But at first, it wasn’t easy for me. I was impatient. I constantly compared her to Flow, not giving myself the chance to truly get to know her. I didn’t realise then that what I needed the most was time, patience, care, and most importantly, acceptance. We are all truly unique and equally deserving of love and kindness.

I’m so glad we didn’t give up on each other. She was always patient. After all, animals are teachers of simple, unconditional love and I love her very much.

Once again, I am filled with deep gratitude for this practice that has taught me to breathe deeply, even when things feel tough, seem impossible, or when doubt arises.

Breathe. Show up. Breathe. Listen. Breathe. Calm. Breathe. Trust. Breathe. Let things be. Things will find their way.

And through it all, try to keep a gentle smile on your face—kindness truly goes a long way.

When winter says goodbye and spring arrives, we meet here at 1500 m above sea level to practise together, breathe freely, recharge, and to gain new perspectives.

This weekend retreat gives you the opportunity to take strength from nature. You will use the energy from the beautiful surroundings and the cool spring air to turn your mind inwards, to look deeply within yourself so you can clean, sort, and start peeling off the layers of winter. It is a chance to decide which seeds you want to plant and cultivate to bloom beautifully in the coming season. You will explore what is meaningful to you and where you need to concentrate your energy and your focus.

The Ashtanga Practice, my dear companion. You gift me a moment of silence, a moment to rest my mind, a moment to be “home”; my body and my mind in the present, consciously and diligently noticing my breath.

During my recent trip to visit family, the main intention with my practice was to be clear, centred, and composed. I might not be the only one triggered by family visits, so making time to practise was a must.

For me, there were deep, intimate and magical moments during my time away. Moments of understanding, some sorrow and joy. The practice of being present with ‘what is’ rather than avoiding ‘now’, finding a way of being serene and kind in our view of reality. These times of contemplation were especially beautiful and rewarding.

I still can see the strong reactions of my mind when triggered and the patterns repeating themself, but these no longer consume me and I am gentler and faster at finding my way back “home” again.

The Ashtanga way, the dedication, the discipline, the devotion and the determination, give plenty of fruits and these nourish all aspects of our life.

So whatever practice you do, do it. Be diligent and practise, practise, practise.
🙏 for these Paparazzi pictures of a very real and beautiful practice, thanks 📸
