What would you do?

I woke up with a 167 reading after being BAD over the weekend. With this reading I’m seeing a bit blurred and dizzy. I’m also very hungry (very often now I feel hungry).

I have 500g metformin on hand that I have as emergency as I am doing this without meds. However, as I age and some stressors are fixed in my life at this time (mom of young kids), I am going to add medication to assist with better readings. I’m not sure what the Dr. would rec but I’m up for the insulin and more dedication/ commitment to more conducive diet.

I’m so hungry, I’m having this, with 1 liter of water and some green tea(moringa and fevergrass). I’d also do some elyptical for about 30mins in an hour or so.

That’s my plan, seeing such a fasting reading. I know some ppl would just take some meds fast buttttttttt I want to really try with my body to help itself and not rely on the medication with ALOT more dedication from me.
Counteractive Plan
- 1 cup Ochro and Tomatoes
- 2 boiled eggs (1 egg yellow)
- Kuchela
- 1 cup green tea
- As much water that I can drink….
- some cardio

I’m just a girl trying to adjust and balance life with diabetes…..also enjoy it too. Leave advice in comments of your journey. Diabetes is not something to be ashamed of…..I know some ppl who live for the gym but can handle the truth about genetics……

Maintaining a diabetes tracker and food journal can be highly beneficial for managing diabetes. Here’s how:

1. **Blood Sugar Monitoring**: A diabetes tracker helps in regularly recording blood glucose levels. This monitoring is crucial for understanding how well one's diabetes is controlled and for making informed decisions regarding medication, diet, and physical activity.

2. **Identifying Patterns and Triggers**: Both tools allow individuals to notice patterns in their blood glucose fluctuations in response to specific foods, activities, and times of day. This recognition can guide adjustments in lifestyle to better manage glucose levels.

3. **Diet Management**: A food journal provides a detailed account of what, when, and how much one eats. For someone with diabetes, understanding the impact of different types of foods on blood sugar levels is essential. It can help in making healthier food choices and maintaining a balanced diet.

4. **Accountability and Commitment**: Keeping a record of daily intake and glucose levels can enhance self-discipline and motivation. It encourages individuals to stay committed to their health goals and make more conscious choices.

5. **Communication with Healthcare Providers**: These records can be invaluable during visits to a healthcare provider. They offer a clear picture of a person’s daily habits and the effectiveness of their current management plan, which can help in fine-tuning their treatment strategy.

6. **Emotional and Psychological Health**: Managing diabetes can be stressful and overwhelming. Regular tracking can reduce anxiety by providing tangible ways to control and manage the condition effectively.

Thus, using a diabetes tracker and maintaining a food journal are practical steps that can significantly aid in the effective management of diabetes, enhancing overall health and well-being.
