Had made this cake a while ago and completely forgot to take pics that would be ‘gram-worthy’ haha !
Never mind, still wanted to document this cause I think this was one of those cakes that I could make over and over again. A regular double chocolate sponge cake but soaked it in rum and topped it with some roasted almonds. I cannot even begin to explain how amazing this cake was- probably why I forgot to take pics haha!
The one thing that I was able to capture in this pic is the lightness of this cake. The air pockets are so distinctly visible, almost wants you to dive right into the picture 😍😍

FRENCH ONION SOUP
And the last one for 2020. I was introduced to this soup by one of friends and instantly fell in love with it. I still remember how we went searching for Gruyère cheese, and she made me the best vegetarian version of this soup. This time, I tried it using beef broth, and it’s still a winner.
The caramelization of onions using butter and deglazing the soup with French wine is my favorite part in the making of the soup. This soup is one of those comforting ones that is a meal in itself and always keep you wanting for more 🙃
