Did you know that your breath is the first thing to go when you feel angry?

This is because your breath will begin to become more shallow and rapid in order for your body to step into fight or flight mode to protect you (even when there is no real danger)

✨ THIS is why how you breath is so important.

I know breathe work can sound cliche or sound like some spirituality guru thing, but truth is, your breath matters. If you can control your breath, you can stay in control of your emotion. If breathwork doesn't help you to calm your nervous system, here's a few things to try (because you might be missing these)

1. Counting and counting slow. Just slowing your breath might not be enough. Count your breaths, focus on your breaths and as you do, you'll find more control by slowing down like this

2. Draw a box on your hand as you breath. This is great especially if you feel like you need to do more to calm down. I used to experience anger very strongly, and trust me, just deep breaths wasn't enough, I needed something that used more energy

3. Practice before you need it. Ever heard the phrase 'when someone is drowning, it's not the time to teach them to swim'? Well, that applies here. You want to get good at it so it works when you need it? practice it before hand, you'll find it starts working.

4. Change your count. You don't have to do 4 second. I used to do 15-20 seconds at a time, at first it made me light headed (my breath holding skills were not as good as I thought) but it worked and I got better at it. Bottom line: It's okay to adjust it to you

It's an official goodbye to summer and hello to new beginnings 🏖️ 🎉

That's such a great caption, I was like... I should just leave it like that, but the truth is, I'm a talker and leaving it at that one line feels a bit odd.

I've gone through an internal rollar coaster over this past summer, anyone who works from home, has a business + is a full-time Mom knows what I'm talking about.

But I'm so grateful for the internal growth I've had.

I've found a balance between business, kids, and my relationships
I've been able to focus on real friendships.
I've found more confidence in myself and who I am.
I've even found healing along the way (who knows if your journey with healing ever will be done, but I'm grateful for it.)

I've gone through a major shift with my mindset, my heart, and my life and I'm grateful for it.

Now, kids are heading off to school (I don't share about them on social media) and this will be the first time that all my kids will be out of the house.

I've thought about my time and hope to use it to influence the world more.

Thank you for following me through this journey of switching from parenting coach to emotional wellness coach. My heart has found a home in this niche and I can't wait to see what the world has in store!

Emotions need to be processed. Ignoring emotions, pretending they're not there, pushing them aside, or just trying to move past them is not the same thing as processing.

Processing emotions means that you take the time to

👉🏻 Feel fully
👉🏻 Understand why you feel the way you do
👉🏻 Express those emotions safely and healthily.

When emotions aren't processed, they don't disappear, they stay in the body, build up, and can cause physical pain.

After ignoring your emotions for so long, how else are they supposed to tell you that they need to be processed?

Emotions showing up as physical pain is they're way of saying 'deal with me', 'heal me', 'take care of me', 'release me'.

Your emotions are trying to tell you that you haven't taken the time to process them correctly.

I want to teach you how to process them.

How to understand them, heal them and most importantly release them.

The only reason your emotions are stuck is because no one's taught you how to actually deal with them.

I used to be in the same boat! Lots of unexplained pain, unwanted reactions, my confidence was lower than low and I didn't even know that you could control your reactions with emotions.

Luckily, I've come a far way, I've gone through the difficult so you can go through this process in an easier way. So here are 2 different things you have to do if you want to learn all about emotional wellness.

Hey friends 👋🏻

I love that we don't gatekeep here because emotional wellness is for everyone. So listen up, one of the best things you can do that helps you process emotions, whether those emotions are from the past, present, or about the future, is writing them out.

I know it sounds simple, so simple that you might not even want to try it, but trust me, it being simple is one of the best things because it makes it easy and realistic to do. Here's why you should start writing to process emotions:

👉🏻 Writing slows your brain down so you focus on reality. Sometimes our emotions get bigger because of what we think could happen

👉🏻 Writing gives you a safe space to let go of emotions. That means you'll stop exploding, reacting, and shutting down towards people you love. No more taking it out on others because you can handle it

👉🏻 Clears your perspective. It takes time to write and as you write, it takes time to think about what to write about. This helps give you a clear view of everything that's going on. With clarity comes understanding, understanding helps you to release

So it's time to do yourself a favor and start writing about how you feel more. It's one of the biggest tools I've used to help me find emotional stability, heal past traumas, heal my anxiety and depression that's been passed down, and allows me to be an emotionally stable parent for my kids, and every child deserves that.

And now is the time to take control of it.

You will never regret changing for the better, but you will regret that you didn't do it sooner.

Don't ignore your reactions. Don't pretend that you don't have anxiety, depression, anger or are reactive. Don't ignore your emotional health. Don't ignore the consistency of days where you feel like it's all too much.

I know you ignore it because you don't want your kids to see it because I've not only been the child who has parents that ignore it, but I've also been the parent who tries to ignore it because I think that somehow, I'll be protecting my kids.

But those emotions seep out.

Your kids will feel them, you'll regret that you have them, and what kind of life is that to continually live in a state of not being able to control your emotions?

It's hard and it's difficult. Life becomes challenging and you'll feel more out of control and just.... sad.

I lived through that life, I've lived the emotionally reactive life and I'm here to tell you that you don't have to keep living like that. You can change. You can be different. All you need is a little bit of help and that's why I'm here. To give you the help and support with your emotions that you never had so you can be the parent that your children need you to be.

One of the hardest things we will do is put in the work to change.

👉🏻 Learning something new so we can change what we know
👉🏻 Learning how to rewire so we can change our nervous systems
👉🏻 Learning from others and actually applying what we learn into our own lives

Change is hard and difficult.

I used to wish that I didn't have to feel because maybe if I didn't feel, I wouldn't feel so anxious... maybe I'd stop feeling depressed, maybe I wouldn't be so reactive or angry anymore. Going numb seemed to work better than actually FEELING and having emotions.

At one point, I did go numb. I was a bit happy at first because this 'I-don't-care' gave me the false idea that I was controlling my emotions. But the happiness soon faded as well because the thing with going numb is that you lose the good emotions too.

So I had to relearn how to let myself feel and I also had to learn (for the first time) how to stay in control of those emotions in a healthy way.

I can't describe to you how hard it was to learn that as an adult, as someone who grew up in an unsafe home and having to do it all alone because no one around me knew how to do what I was trying to do.

It took years filled with regret, tears, frustration, and what should've been hopelessness, but I never gave up on trying to learn how to control my emotions because I knew that if I just kept going, I would learn to stay in control.

And guess what? I did. It took months and years of struggling, but I did it and my life has more balance.

I'm happier, difficult situations have become easier to manage, I'm more confident, I love myself more, I feel like an incredible mother, and I just feel good. I enjoy life.

I think everyone deserves this kind of joy in their life, the joy that they feel from being in control of emotions, the joy of knowing that depression, anxiety, and chronic stress no longer need to take up space in their life, the joy of being who they are without their emotions turning them into someone they're not.

For everyone who believes that anger is bad ⬇️

I used to think the same thing.

When I was younger, it was anger that caused my step-mother to abuse me.
It was anger that made people hurt me.
It was anger that caused hurtful words that created broken hearts.
It was anger that destroyed people, family, and friendships.

But I learned that anger is not inherently bad. There are plenty of people who feel angry but aren't reactive or aggressive. There are people who feel angry but don't cause harm. There are people who used their anger in a way for powerful positive changes.

Anger was never meant to be an emotion that you should hate. It is meant to help you see that something needs to change. We've seen it in history, you've seen it in my life, and if you think about it, you'll see it in yours. In all those moments where you felt angry because something was 'not okay' because 'something has to change'

The key with anger is to understand it to respond to it instead of reacting to it. But you probably weren't taught how to do that, because most people aren't.

It's time to change that.

It's time to learn how to keep your control so your anger doesn't take over.
It's time to learn how to respond without reacting
It's time to stop hating anger and use it in a way that heals.
It's time to put yourself in a place where this growth becomes not only possible, but doable

I know all too well what this is like.
I know what it's like to ignore everything happening to you so you can take care of others.
I know the pain that you bury because you don't have another choice other than to keep moving forward.
I know what exactly what it feels like to be the one who stands up for others, but never have someone stand up for you.

I've lived this life, and it's a hard and lonely road to go down because everything you carry is silent.
