Where it All Began...
In Early Intervention and post NICU inpatient settings, Dana continually found that mothers were not able to be truly present for their babies because they were not able to take care of themselves. Attention was placed solely on the child when the mother was still healing, and struggling silently with physical and emotional difficulties. This sparked an interest in postpartum care and providing mother & baby support in the home.
Dana has always been passionate about the intersection of yoga and occupational therapy. After years of practicing as an occupational therapist and studying yoga and movement, she was inspired to incorporate yogic methods into her treatments with patients. Occupational therapists understand that personal wellness is highly informed by participation in meaningful activity. The physical symptoms are important, but recovery extends to one’s emotional state, environment, habits, and routines.
