Hug your babies. Call your representatives. Take to the streets. Silence is complicit and I refuse to be silent as they tear families apart. I refuse to allow them to take away my humanity. When I say I support all mothers, I mean I support ALL mothers💜

At Modern Motherhood Therapy, we proudly support all who mother — q***r parents, trans parents, non-binary parents, solo parents, chosen families, and anyone else showing up in the world with that fierce, nurturing, complicated, beautiful energy. 🌈

The perinatal mental health field has a long, messy history of centering cis, straight, White, women and leaving everyone else out of the conversation.

Q***r, trans, and non-binary parents have always been here. They’ve mothered, nurtured, created family, and navigated systems not built for them.

This Pride Month (and every month), we’re here to say: You belong. Your family is valid. Your experiences matter. And you deserve care that sees all of you.

Motherhood isn’t one-size-fits-all. It never was.🌈✨

To the ones who create magic in the mundane, the heaviest of all the invisible labor. (Special shout out to my mom who makes everything she touches sparkle and now I get to watch her do it with MY babies🥹)

To the ones who hold their babes extra tight at night and then make their 153rd phone call demanding that mothers the world over deserve safety for their children.

To the ones who teach us to do the right thing, even when nobody is looking...even with the right thing is hard, even when the right thing means you sacrifice.

To the ones who showed us how to use our voices, make good trouble and be a squeaky wheel in order to make the world a more just place for everyone.

To the ones who know motherhood is the most political thing one can do and vote, donate, knock doors, make phone calls and don't hesitate to wear the conversation-starter-tees to the neighborhood playground.

To the ones who didn't know that modern motherhood meant becoming an advocate for yourself, your kiddos, and all of humankind. Turns out mothering in a patriarchy during the rise of fascism requires skills they left out of the parenting books and $99 courses.

And to all the moms we've lost because our policies allowed them (and their babies) to slip through the cracks, the ones who gave their lives fighting for their truth, and the ones who never got to see their dreams come to life.

I hope today was gentle if that's what you needed. And I hope you know how powerful you are. In a world that wants to silence women, be louder. In a world that wants to control our bodies, hold on to control with everything you've got. In a world that depends on you being small, be gigantic. I see you, I raise a glass to you and I'm happy to stand alongside you during the revolution💜

💚🌍Happy Earth Day 🌍💚

A reminder not just to care for the Earth, but to hold space for the complex emotions that come with loving a planet in crisis.

Many of us are feeling the weight of eco-anxiety—a deep worry about the future of our planet, grief for what’s already been lost, and overwhelm at the scale of it all.
It’s valid. It’s real. And it’s a lot to carry—especially while also navigating the demands of motherhood, caregiving, or building a future in uncertain times.

If you’ve found yourself grieving the world your children are inheriting, wondering if you’re doing enough, or feeling stuck between action and despair—you’re not alone.
You’re human. You’re connected. And that means you care.

Today, may we honor both the Earth and the tenderness we feel for it. Step outside. Breathe. Pause. 💚

I said what I said.

Listen, if the only reason a man wants to complete a chore is so he gets some s*xual favor in return, he's not actually ready to dismantle the patriarchal imbalance of domestic labor. He's in fact doubling down on it by making s*x a transactional currency that he "deserves" for doing the dishes, so stop making that the narrative!

Ironic that some men think they deserve to be "paid" for the work of domestic labor, eh?

Even more ironic (maybe disturbing?) is that some of the folks beating the drum about the mental load are suggesting women offer payment (in the form of their bodies) in order to get "help" while receiving no compensation themselves.

We have to do better. Women deserve better, and so do men.
