On Episode 148: Section 504 Plans of The Parent IEP Lab Podcast, we dive into the world of 504's!

There is a major misconception that these are the "lesser" of the plans...and it's not exactly true, although they don't provide everything that an IEP does.

504's (just like IEPs) are AMAZING when they are done the RIGHT way.

SO!

In this episode we tackle several misconceptions and tricks to make these effective.

One such question, that I see answered INCORRECTLY a lot of times, is if you can have BOTH an IEP and a 504.

Yes, you can!

For example, I had a student with a 504 for diabetes.

And an IEP for her learning challenges.

Do they HAVE to be separate? No.

But the parents wanted them separate. So we did!
