Doing a little experimenting for an upcoming bread commission request. First take at a pumpkin shaped loaf was not quite a success but definitely not a failure. I think it needs a little scoring at the center to prevent some of the sections from exploding like this one did. 🎃

What an amazing time, celebrating the most amazing couple, in a few amazing places, with some pretty amazing people that I love. (Redundancy required lol)

Trying to keep these post to 20 photos was HARD, but here’s a few of my favorites from the past days.

I went in for a jacket, and maybe some shoes. However, my smaller body was screaming for some new fall clothes and dammit I said yes! Some for an upcoming wedding, many work separates, and I told Brian he’ll need to be taking me out a little more often now. We don’t even need to do anything, I just want to wear cute, comfy clothes!!

It was a year ago I was first reaching for a 2XL, and it almost destroyed me. Mentally and physically. Almost every one of these is a L!! My body is thanking me for the commitment I’ve made to treat it better, so I’m thanking it right back with a little wardrobe upgrade.

Another day of digging in the dirt. Out with the old dead plants, expanding my back bed, a sprinkle of wildflowers blooming, and dropping in a few bulbs that will hopefully bring forth some beautiful color after a winter’s rest. Sunset was at 6:45 and I ended at 6:55. Now it’s my turn for rest.

Whipping up a breakfast casserole; can you guess which are store bought and which are farm fresh eggs? How many do you think were laid 4 days ago??

A simple Saturday = bliss. Woke up and baked a loaf of bread for my little middle and her bff; had to give it a little extra love 🫶🏻

Then I harvested my first ever potatoes and onions! Not a huge haul by any means, but I was happy to have them survive this crazy hot, wet summer and look forward to cooking up my own crop!

Then B went golfing with our nephew so I got to dig in the dirt some more, and get things ready for the next season. I’m anxious to expand our little garden next year, and can’t wait to spend some chilly Autumn days in our little back yard.

Cozied up inside now, with my new little spider plant that was a baby taken off a plant my oldest nephew (age 42) brought home from kindergarten!

I’ve always known no two people are alike, and that there is definitely not a one size fits all approach to our diets. Working on finding MY best foods, and trying to replace some of my animal protein with a bigger variety of plant foods. This bean salad I threw together tonight was chock full of goodness most of which came from local farmers!! (Picked red onions in there were made by me.) I added some olives to my bowl since B is not a fan (yet).

You can find my recipe in slides 4 and 5, but feel free to improvise with whatever fresh veg, beans and acid you like. Don’t forget to save this post for later! 📝

When in doubt, make a stir fry or scramble with whatever you have on hand. For tonight’s leftover makeover I used:
Peppercorn sirloin skewer (1 leftover)
2 slices cooked bacon
2 ears of corn off the cob
Half a container of baby Bella mushrooms
1 whole zucchini
A handful of the gorgeous little yellow pear tomatoes (that I grew!! 🪏)

Sautéed the veggies, then added the meat and a dash of Kinder’s The Blend seasoning, and then topped it with some roasted pepitas for extra fiber and crunch.

At the last minute I decided to top it off with a dollop of Iceland Skyr and some parsley. B topped his with feta cheese.

Leftovers….gone!! Bellies…happy!! Time spent…less than 30 minutes. ُ
