I am so deeply grateful for the words families share with me. Every child’s journey is unique, and being trusted to walk alongside parents in these tender, hopeful, and joy-filled moments is the greatest gift of my work.

Hearing reflections like this reminds me why I do what I do and fills me with so much gratitude:

“I cannot say enough great things about Judy! She was helpful and engaging from our very first call. Judy was thoughtful in the way she approached her therapy style for our son and was extremely communicative the whole time we worked with her... Judy is incredible, professional, warm, experienced, and generally a joy to be around. I cannot recommend Judy and Free to Move and Play highly enough!” — Madeleine K.

To the amazing families I’ve had the privilege of working with: thank you for your trust, your partnership, and your courage. It’s an honor to be part of your child’s growth. 💙

I love using this dynamic stretch at the beginning of sessions…..do the easier side first and then switch. Move the child into upper trunk rotation with side bending and hold for 10-20 seconds with gentle bouncing. Let him then use his trunk muscles to pull back up independently. It’s a great stretch for the hips as well with that foot planted. They love to reach for and touch the .ca sensory tiles on the floor!👏🏻👏🏻

🥳We had such a fun time with our grandson this past week who is now almost 8 months old!

👶🏻Perfect time to demonstrate and talk about pre-crawling activities!

🐒Independent floor sitting balance must be achieved with the next progression being learning how to transition in and out of sitting with the all important side sitting position using hands for propping and trunk muscles more for weight shifting and rotating to eventually moving to hands and knees!

🙌🏻Floor activities using rolling for mobility and prone pivoting are important but moving into upright sitting is where it’s at now!
Commando (army)crawling may be something they are trying but it’s not as important as the progression to hands and knees crawling (this must not be skipped!)

🌺I don’t encourage babies to be put in standing positions that much until they learn how to crawl and eventually pull up to kneeling and then to standing at stable surfaces more on their own💪🏻 (their muscles and joints are more ready for standing at that point)

Short sitting on your knees is a good way to work on weight bearing through their feet until they have mastered pulling up to standing (keep your support low on their trunk or hips to work those core/trunk muscles!)

🤯Pax is on his way to crawling soon and his means of exploring his world will expand and help prepare his body and brain for so many exciting things to come!

Let me know if you have any questions!!

I’m incredibly humbled to be named a DFWChild Mom-Approved Wellness Practitioner for 2025! 🩵

Thank you to the families who took the time to share their kind words and nominate me—it means the world. I don’t take your trust lightly. Supporting children and their parents through physical therapy is a true privilege, and I’m so thankful I get to do this work every day.

To every parent who invites me into their child’s journey: thank you for believing in me, and for allowing Free to Move and Play to be part of your village.

And a heartfelt thank you to for this recognition—I’m so honored to be included among such passionate and dedicated providers.
Here’s to continuing to help our little ones move, grow, and thrive!
