Oplan Kalusugan sa DepEd 👌🏾

The School Health and Nutrition Unit held a symposium about the Oplan Kalusugan sa DepEd Flagship Programs last June 25, 2025 at Cainta ES Auditorium.

The event was graced by the Schools Division Superintendent, Ma’am Doris DJ. Estalilla, Assistant Schools Division Superintendent, Ma’am Alona A. Encinares, and Schools Governance and Operations Chief, Sir Ferdinand C. Pascual.

The School Health and Nutrition Unit OKD Program Focals re-oriented the PSDSs and School Heads about the ongoing and upcoming activities that uplifts the health and well-being of the learners as well as all DepEd personnel. DepEd Order 50 s. 2025 was also introduced to the participants and the roles each of them have to play in order to have a smooth conduct of the Learner’s Health Assessment.

HNU Rizal in the NSAC 🩺🦷📝

The School Health and Nutrition Unit of Rizal participated in the National Screening and Accreditation for the 2025 Palarong Pambansa last March 31 - April 5, 2025 held in Lipa City, Batangas. Among the screeners from Rizal was the Medical Officer - Dr. Nasol, Dentists - Dr. Riñoza (DIC), Dr. Espiritu, Dr. Tunque, Dr. Potestades, Nurses - Nurse Victorio, Nurse Campos, Nurse Arabit, and Nurse Lhizares.

The team along with the SHNU of other SDO’s of CALABARZON, the Regional Screening Committee headed by Chief Alba, and the National Screening Committee, ensured that the CALABARZON delegate (with a significant number coming from Rizal) is in tip-top shape to compete in the 2025 Palarong Pambansa in Ilocos Norte this May.

Mental Health Matters! 🍃

The School Health and Nutrition Unit, conducted an Orientation on the Localized Referral System on Mental Health Psychosocial Support last March 13-14 at Casa Rizal spearheaded by the Rizal SHNU Mental Health Focal Nurse Loisa Andrea C. Balane. Participants are from the 13 Municipalities of Rizal with 5 representatives from each municipality including LGU staff for proper referrals.

The event was graced with esteemed speakers knowledgeable in the field of Mental Health such as Sir Mark Christian M. Francisco, MA,RGC,RPm, and Mam Joywynlove C. Candelaria, RMT. Present also in the event are the Registered Guidance Counselors of Rizal namely, Mam Jean U. Basas, Mam Loida Lulu L. Deres, and Mam Mariquit A. Estrabo, who shared their expertise to the participants.

The Standardized Referral System for the Mental Health Program among schools is beneficial in all aspects. Students may have early intervention, timely support and improved academic performance. The school staff may reduce administrative burden, increase efficiency, and enhance collaboration.

The orientation echoed and reinforced the Regional Memorandum No. 134 s.2025 or Guidelines on the Localized Referral System for Mental Health Psychosocial Support Intervention and Adolescent Reproductive Health which will be used in the upcoming S.Y. 2025-2026.

In preparation for the 2025 Regional Athletic Association Meet (RAAM), which will be hosted by the Schools Division Office of Rizal, the School Health and Nutrition Unit, led by Dr. Jose Carlo Antonio L. Nasol, along with Nurse Yoingco, one of the Division's Focal Nurses for Sports, conducted a courtesy call with the Medical Center Chiefs of Apex Hospitals in Metro Manila, namely Dr. Imelda M. Mateo of Amang Rodriguez Memorial Medical Center and Dr. Evelyn Victoria E. Reside of Quirino Memorial Medical Center.

The Schools Division Office of Rizal is grateful for the support of these DOH-retained hospitals for the RAAM 2025 delegates.

A shared responsibility in health 🤝🏽

In preparation for the 2025 Regional Athletic Association Meet (RAAM) to be hosted by the Schools Division Office of Rizal, the School Health and Nutrition Unit, led by Dr. Jose Carlo Antonio L. Nasol, along with Division Focal Nurses for Sports - Nurses Victorio, Arabit, Felipe, and Yoingco - conducted a courtesy call on the Nurse Coordinator of the Disaster Risk Reduction and Management in Health, Sir Joehl Melchor P. Francisco of the Department of Health Region IV-A. The meeting aimed to further solidify the commitment to shared responsibility in health for all RAAM 2025 delegates.
