Yoga Bella was created when Helen Gilbertson known to her family as 'Bella' trained as a Yoga Teacher after discovering how much practicing Yoga had benefited her over the years and realising that she wanted to share those benefits with others. She began teaching 4 years ago in North Yorkshire, took to teaching online during 2020. Now residing on the beautiful west coast of Scotland she can't wait

Join Helen to practice Yoga and you might just improve your mobility, flexibility, strength, and balance - of your body and mind. Helen shares a Hatha Vinyasa style of Yoga in which you will practice moving with your breath, using the breath to support and enable you into certain postures yet also into relaxation through the body to calming the mind.

“The physical side to Yoga got me interested in the beginning. I wanted to be stronger and more flexible, Yoga enabled me to develop my body, without injuring it like I had done in the past. I discovered pretty quickly there is so much more to be gained, I became hooked and inspired to share it!

When people ask me how long I’ve been practicing Yoga its a tricky one, practicing assumes some sort of frequency, repetition, even organisation. So honestly I haven’t been really practicing for very long maybe 3 years. Yet prior to this I had experience of Yoga I was always drawn to it, I would attend classes sporadically, this fit better with my lifestyle. I spent a number of years backpacking around the world, and got to join in classes in Nepal in incredible temples with gongs and chanting and then what felt like the other end of the spectrum in the USA I attended a few Bikram classes in a small high end studio. Then when I began to settle in the UK again I dropped into a few gentle Hatha and Iyengar classes that were popping up. My Yoga continued to be a bit random I’d find youtube videos, podcasts and people to follow on instagram. In my random exploration I got to try quite a few different styles without even really realising, my interest was growing I was doing it more frequently and a Yoga practice was steadily creeping into my life. Due to all the Yoga I’d been consuming online, Facebook noticed and began offering me more. It began with Yoga leggings, moved onto online courses and then came the Teacher Training adverts. The seed was planted, watered and beginning to grow. Within about 6 months I was in Bali completely immersed in a my training with @ZunaYoga (www.zunayoga.co.uk). Eating, sleeping breathing Yoga for a full month, it was incredible!
