People of The Patch |
Meet Meagan - our “self-made entrepreneur” juggling health & fitness, construction, and now the arts, all while living her “hardest but best life” with her hubby, two kids, and one more on the way. She switches between her Mama potae and entrepreneur potae “like it’s an Olympic sport,” and we love her for it.
Meagan is known for her “get s**t done” attitude, her communication, her loveable personality, and the high standards she holds herself to.
How did she end up at the Patch?
“Well… if you ask Vea and Bubsie, they’ll probably say we were the annoying neighbours upstairs at BFT Papatoetoe dropping barbells and causing chaos. But if you ask me, we connected through our shared love of serving the community. And obviously because I was just so loveable they couldn’t resist bringing me in.”
What keeps her coming back?
“I have not met a group of siblings so determined to love and serve their communities… their tautua is admirable. This is what keeps bringing me back. Even when they like to change things at the 11th hour…”
What she loves most about Taro Patch Creative?
“Every day is different and every week our canvas, our walls change. Does it cause my OCD to go into overdrive? YES. But I wouldn’t have it any other way.”
Her vibe in three words: Whānau. Alofa. Service.
Her happy place is the simple stuff, whānau time, friends, hyena-level belly laughs with a gin in hand, and punishing herself at BFT Papatoetoe. Home will always taste like her Aunty’s chicken and rice soup, pisupo with falai kapisi saiga, laisa, and her Mum’s koko laisa.
And the plot twist: “I am half Korean. People would never guess that.”
Today, as Meagan heads off on maternity leave, we just want to say…
Thank you for your heart, your humour, your service, your chaos, your standards, your love, and your absolute A-game. We adore you, Meagan. Go enjoy this next chapter, we’ve got you. 🧡
