This means he could wait a minimum of 3 years before getting the transplant he needs to heal and move on with his life. People often ask why the family is not donating to the patient. In Tony's case, the family cannot. Unfortunately, Tony’s wife is not a good candidate because she has kidney stones. His sons
also cannot donate at this time due to health reasons. This is why we are making an appeal for a living kidney donor outside the family.
