Trigger point injections, or TPI, are a type of soft tissue injection used as a pain management method for muscular pain. A mix of anesthetic and steroid is injected into the muscle fiber, releasing the tension it holds and relieving pain.

Multiple injections may be done if the pain is still residing, however, most patients respond to the first injection well.
