Ever wondered why beliefs are very common even though they’re not really as true as people claim to be?

Some health beliefs may be harmless if practiced for some, but did you know that studies report that diet inadequacies are most prevalent during pregnancy? This means the health of mothers and babies who practice these are affected negatively the most compared to other age groups!

Common misconceptions about health are practiced because of these reasons. Hence, it is important that mothers know that the popularity of a belief does not mean it is true. It is important to shed light about how this happens, so that mothers can be critical thinkers and be able to think first before believing or performing a specific practice, for their babies’ and their own health.

Is the belief paglilihi true?

No! There is no scientific evidence that proves this claim. In fact, pregnancy cravings are commonly caused by hormonal changes, enhanced sense of smell and taste, and nutritional insufficiency. The physical attributes of the baby are also determined by the genes of their parents.
