Hello lovely yogis. On the eve of my 47th birthday, just a little update from Menopause HQ…All studies now complete. I’m so glad I’ve taken the time to complete the Menpause 2.0 course over the summer on top of the 500 hour training. It has really enhanced and solidified my knowledge on the why of all the things I’ve been doing to feel strong, balanced and positive through menopause transition. So, I’m now going to get my head down and I’m really excited about pulling it all together. I’m not going to set a deadline. Just know curious Gill side quests are reined in 😂, and I’m shifting my focus and energy to consolidating it all together to share and help other women. We’ll be covering history of women’s health and negative stereotypes, what happens to our bodies when the hormones change (inc medically induced menopause) and why doing nothing differently is not an option, eastern perspective on menopause and how it helps us understand the science, practical examples of how we can support our bodies through what we eat, how we move, lifestyle practices, gadgets and more. Also how we can incorporate the science on optimal training for menopause into our routines where we have other forms of training we love for the social and mental health aspects. My wish is that those who take part leave armed with a fresh perspective on this stage in life, an understanding of what they can do to adjust for the changes, and an arsenal of tools to help each unique woman support her frankly amazing female physiology. I want this to be what I needed eight to ten years ago and to give two fingers up to all the negative stereotyping surrounding what menopause is and means. I also want to continue building the community of strong, kind, resilient, supportive women and enjoying seeing connections made and life experiences shared amongst you all. With much love and loads of Oms Gill ###

What has Yoga taught you? I’d love to hear from you.🌿👇

Yoga has taught me to slow down, soften, observe, simplify, reframe, stay curious, expand my comfort zone, connect with others and appreciate the little things.

Today, on International Day of Yoga and the Summer Solstice, I took some time to sit under the oak tree in my garden. It felt like the perfect way to connect with the energy of the day. I did a beautiful mantra meditation with . I’m feeling rooted now like the oak itself 🌳

Enlightening evening listening to Kirsty Gallagher speaking about finding our cosmic purpose and I’m so encouraged to learn more about my own specific birth chart and how I seem to be moving more into alignment with my own purpose with the work I’m starting to do. Sooo interesting.

Thanks to everyone who supports my classes for being part of the growing community. I pure love bringing women together, seeing everyone come down a level into chill mode; and it’s even better when we do the periodic Sangha and get a chance to chat and share common ground. Tonight we supported ( ), ( ), ( ), Greepeace UK ( ) and ( ) so the donations are rippling off now to make a positive difference to people we’ll never know. In a world that feels frankly bonkers at times, we have more agency than we sometimes think to make a positive difference, and more in common with each other than some would have us believe. Am taking a break from teaching now to finish my studies with and get the course together, combining the science and the yoga. I’m excited about bringing a wider community of women together to help them reframe Menopause into something that helps them step into their personal power. I want to help women to understand what is going on, what medical and other interventions might help them, how to make changes to nutrition, movement, and lifestyle practices to support the new way their body operates, oh and how we can use Yoga philosophy and practice to support this. Each women is unique and should have a toolkit at the ready, and a sisterhood of women to support her, so she can tailor her own journey to what I see as freedom. Have a fab summer. I’ll see some of you across that time no doubt and will be in touch late summer with my next offerings. Love and Oms (sign off borrowed from my lovely friend and teacher ). As always refreshment by …China White is the one we had tonight ladies. Thanks .thomson for the snack inspo 😘

30 day Yoga Nidra challenge to support UN world food programme inspired by ”If you restore balance in your own self, you will be contributing immensely to the healing of the world”.

From my research for In Harmony With Menopause, sleep disruption is one of the most commonly reported Menopause symptoms. (But is not exclusive to Menopause so anyone can join this challenge). I’ve found Yoga Nidra to be a really effective tool in supporting my sleep hygiene. So I’ve written and recorded a Yoga Nidra for deep sleep and relaxation and have challenged myself to 30 days of Yoga Nidra at bedtime. I’m doing this in aid of UN World Food Programme and I’d love you to join me and support your own sleep quality. To take part please donate via just giving link in my story and bio. Suggested donation £5. As a thank you I will send you the Yoga Nidra audio file I’m using, so you can do the challenge with me. Or you can start whenever you want). Just drop me a note confirming you’ve donated and letting me know where to send the file to. You could even gather your own sponsorship to support World Food Programme or a charity that is close to your own heart. Feel welcome to share with anyone you think this will resonate with.
