Alcohol abuse is a social and a familial issue, as well as a deeply personal one. In this study on spouses of patients with alcohol use disorder, it was seen that 50% of husbands of the patients, also exhibited severe alcohol dependence. These results make apparent the need for support services to help spouses of people with alcohol use disorder to better manage their stress.
