If a child is struggling to listen, follow instructions or engage, they’re not being “difficult.” They're likely dysregulated.

💥 Big feelings, noisy environments, transitions or unmet needs can all lead to dysregulation.

🧘‍♀️ What helps? Co-regulation! Calm, connected adults who help children return to a sense of safety.

We support children to understand and express their big feelings—and we work with caregivers and educators to build strategies that work.

📞 Want to explore how we can support emotional regulation in your early childhood setting or family? Reach out via 08 8102 0930 or admin@connecteducation.info

Play isn’t just fun—it’s essential for learning.

Play-based therapy builds:
🧠 executive functioning
💬 communication skills
🌈 emotional regulation
💪 gross & fine motor skills
🫶 social confidence

And because it’s engaging and enjoyable, children are more likely to participate and benefit.

🌿 Every session at Connect.Ed is tailored to the child’s interests, using play as the vehicle for growth.

🤝 coaching and mentoring
🧠 strategies that work in your space
🛠️ support with complex behaviours

At Connect.Ed, we don’t just work with children.
We work with the around them too (the educators, parents and caregivers who support them every day).

We:
🔹 share practical strategies
🔹 support you to feel confident
🔹 create plans that fit your routines
🔹 help you understand the ‘why’ behind behaviours

Whether it’s helping a child regulate, communicate or engage in play, we know progress is faster when the adults feel equipped and empowered to support the children.

There’s no such thing as “just playing”.

Play is how children:
🧠 process what they’ve seen and felt
🧩 explore big ideas
💬 practice language and social skills
🌈 express emotion
🧘‍♂️ calm their nervous system

At Connect.Ed, we use play as therapy because play is a child’s first language.

Every session is guided by their interests and readiness, ensuring safety, trust and real growth.

Why does our outreach model work?

💡We come to where children feel most secure (whether that's in the home, school or early childhood services).

📍 Therapy in familiar spaces =
✔️ less anxiety
✔️ more engagement
✔️ better outcomes
Plus, we get to see what’s really happening day-to-day, which allows us to tailor support that actually works.

🤲 Our outreach model makes therapy accessible, responsive and child-centred.
No clinic visits. Just real support, in real environments.

🌱 Did you know that play develops in stages?

Understanding where a child is at helps us meet them right where they are.

Children don’t “grow out” of earlier stages—they build on them.

When we support children at their current stage, we help them grow in confidence, connection and communication.

🧠 At Connect.Ed, we use play-based approaches to build skills in a way that feels safe and natural for children.

What Is Play-Based Therapy (and Why Do We Use It)?

Play is how children communicate, explore their world and make sense of their experiences — especially when words are hard to find.

That’s why, in therapy, we don’t always sit down and “talk about feelings” the way adults might. Instead, we:
✨ follow the child’s lead
✨ use toys, games, art, and imagination
✨ create a safe space for emotional expression
✨ explore challenges through play rather than direct questioning

🧠 Why does this matter?
Because play-based therapy aligns with how children's brains work. It allows them to process big feelings, build relationships and develop skills in a way that feels safe and familiar.

Whether it’s building emotional regulation, strengthening social skills or processing trauma, play is the child’s language.
