I Beat Fibromyalgia & Chronic Fatigue I am sharing my fibromyalgia story. I am an integrative medicine doctor who had this horrible condition since 2005.

I beat it into remission around 2010, and have been helping other sufferers out ever since.

What is your #1 fear and is it truly REAL?

Gluten intolerance or sensitivity is characterized by the body’s inability to absorb nutrients from foods containing gluten. It creates intense discomfort, indigestion, bloating, and a long list of other symptoms which vary from person to person.

Functional health experts know that the body responds to the onset of gluten with an inflammatory response. (This means that as an inflammatory disease, the easiest way to reduce symptoms of gluten intolerance is by following a strict anti-inflammatory diet.)

Making sure you are aware of potential inflammation-aggravating foods is key to treating coeliac and gluten sensitivity, and yet many of us simply don’t understand the true impact this can have on the body in many other respects, too.

The chances of developing the following illnesses are also known to be significantly reduced by following an anti-inflammatory diet:

-Arthritis

-Poor wound healing

-Some forms of cancer

While those who suffer from coeliac disease ARE more prone to these symptoms, it’s worth noting that eating ‘gluten-free’ is not beneficial for coeliacs alone.

People who have hypothyroidism might suffer from a slower metabolism; this is important to know because our metabolism controls our ability to burn calories. Having a slow metabolism comes with several health risks. It may leave you tired, increase your blood cholesterol levels, and make it harder for you to lose weight.

So, what can you do?

If you've been diagnosed with hyperthyroidism, you may be able to maintain your weight with moderate- or high-intensity cardio. This includes exercises like fast-paced walking, running, hiking, and rowing.

Do you have a favorite cardio exercise? Post it in the comments below!

No one can get into our heads the way we do. We constantly have a dialogue going. Is your inner voice positive, encouraging, and forgiving? Or is it negative, judgmental, and ugly?

Sometimes we don’t even realize how hurtful we talk to ourselves. The truth is we don’t have to continue beating ourselves up. The next time the voice in your head puts you down, question it! It’s not used to you talking back, we normally just accept it as truth, but it’s not!

It takes time to alter our self-talk to be more positive, but it’s worth the effort. Your health is counting on it!

A big part of the preventative medicinal approach lies in ‘preventing’ the onset of illness before symptoms ever start to appear.

The first step towards this is to cultivate an awareness of our existing state of health. From there, we can proceed with a baseline knowledge of how our bodies and minds can thrive and put steps in place to achieve this.

(Even if you don’t think you might be at risk of developing a certain illness, or if you see your current bill of health as an ‘acceptable’ level of functionality that you wish to maintain. This is a perfect time!)

Take the steps to make sure your health is at an optimum level. Make the changes that will boost immunity, maximize your health, and ensure your chance of preventing illness is maximized.

Do it now, or you’ll regret it later!!

I always encourage people who feel stuck to open their mind to curiosity because I have found that the more curious I am, the more I am in motion... and the more I am in motion, the less time I have for fear!

What are you most curious about?

Some days are certainly better than others, that’s the beauty of life, right? We can’t always control what happens in life, but there are ways of improving ourselves to ensure good mental health through tough times.

Remember that the world is not out to get you and it does not punish you. You do that to yourself. You have the choice to focus on the positive or dwell in the negative. There is a lesson to be learned at every turn.
