Prayer request: safe travels for Dr. Dwight & Debbie. They are traveling to Mamou, Guinea, West Africa, which is a 20+ hour trip with rigorous road trips and flight connections. Dr. Dwight & Debbie are excited to connect with CEH staff & MIAPE missionaries, to encourage them, pray with them, and share biblical teachings/resources. May this be a refreshing and encouraging time for the people at CEH.

CEH wants to thank the Highland Park Baptist Church and First Baptist Northville volunteers who worked hard sorting/packing CEH containers on Friday & Saturday, April 11-12th. We are currently packing the 24th container of medical supplies and construction materials. We hope to ship it in May 2025. Volunteer packers helped sort medical supplies and moved them to Suburban Showplace in Novi. Please pray for safe transport.

As we search for highly trained medical professionals, CEH was connected with Dr. Leul and his wife, Eden. She is a nurse anesthetist. He is trained as a general surgeon in PAACS (Pan African Academy of Christian Surgeons) in Ethiopia. He would potentially come as a missionary through MIAPE. He would be a tremendous partner and colleague to Dr. Paul. The key leaders of CEH, CIHI, MIAPE, Fresh Rosee & CEVEEN are all represented alongside Dr. Leul & Eden. They visited all the CEH departments & staff.

Doris has been a wonderful nursing instructor and helped establish the CIHI Nursing School at CEH. She is sadly retiring this summer of 2025. Her presence and guidance will be missed. Some potential nurses could serve at CIHI in the near future. Audrey is currently serving as a Mercy Ship nurse. Jessica is a missionary nurse in Dalaba, Guinea (one hour north of the hospital). They both visited CEH recently and connected with the hospital staff. Please pray with them as they explore the opportunity to serve at CEH. If you know anyone who would like to serve alongside the CIHI Nursing Program, share the link above. One of our major goals for 2025 -2026 is to develop a group of medical professionals who will improve the medical services and training of nationals at CEH.

MIAPE Guinée - Mission Inter Africaine Pour l'Evangélisation
The MIAPE Women's Ministry had a beautiful Palm Sunday Service. The women presented the story of Palm Sunday and provided a feast for the congregation and community. It is exciting to see and hear about the women's group growing and maturing over the past year. The blue link above is a great place to read about updates (in French with translation available) from the MIAPE Chapel ministry.

WELCOME! Mindy joined the CEH board in October 2024. She has extensive experience in Asia, the Middle East, Africa, and America. Among her many professional duties, she is skilled in procuring foundational grants for non-profit organizations. She works in South Sudan and made her first trip to Mamou, Guinea last week. She toured the Hospital, the Nursing School (CIHI), Fresh Rosee and the MIAPE Church. Mindy caught the vision of how the work is currently functioning. She shared constructive advice and had conversations with all the key leadership on future steps we need to pursue. Thank you, Mindy!

A Big "Thank You!" to Clayton, Anco, Fassou & Emmanuel. CEH has been updated with intranet, newer solar lithium batteries, and security systems. Clayton, a CEH board facilitator, is responsible for each of these projects. The intranet is a network within the hospital that interconnects through local radio waves. Major renovations were made on the solar power system by Anco and Clayton. Anco, a CMA missionary from Senegal, has been working on our solar power system for 4 years. The new lithium batteries were installed for solar, which power the hospital system, including the x-ray and sterilizers. The updated lithium batteries are more efficient than lead batteries for the solar system. CEH is very thankful for these significant improvements!

CEH is excited to welcome the new Guinean Central Pharmacy Depot to Mamou! CEH receives 60-90% of our medicines through the depot. Until this Pharmacy Depot building opened in January 2025, the hospital relied on 6-hour trips to the Pharmacy Depot in Conakry to provide medication for our patients. This new facility will help CEH efficiently serve its patients better. Local Guinean and national government officials participated in the opening ceremonies on January 21, 2025.

"REJOICE!", the angels proclaimed to the shepherds. This year of 2024 has been full of joy and chaos. As we gather to celebrate the holidays together let's take a moment...and consider a newborn baby born over 2,000 years ago named Emmanuel, the meaning of his name, " GOD with US". He promised to be with us through the joy and chaos of each day, week, and year. We encourage you to see what God has done at CEH. If you are curious scroll through 2024 posts or read 2024 news/updates on the CEH website: https://www.cehguinea.org/news
