Should you apply this principle to your life?
The quest for achieving, maintaining and managing balance is one basic pursuit that both humans and life in nature continues to grapple with.
There is an accounting principle that states that "for every credit there is a corresponding debit".
This principle helps us right through to arriving at a balance in the production of final accounts.
No matter where you hit a roadblock, you would always trace it back to your simple credit and debit entries, asking yourself that question as you trace your way back through each entry.
Today, my mind went back to this principle in relation to our Wholeness and our Wellness.
We must have both "Takers" and "Givers" in our life to strike a balance in our emotional wellness.
Let me ask you - "As you pour into others who are those pouring into you?
We must aim to strike that balance in our lives too.
You will have "Takers" in many forms... As it relates to your work, family, community etc.
Each person within these categories will come to you for different things.
Your "Givers" will also come to fulfil a variety of needs in your life... Some will nourish you with positive encouraging words, some will help you laugh and replenish your joy, some will be the voice of reason... and the list goes on.
How often do we stop to take stock of our emotional wellness?
Sometimes you may be giving more than you're taking or vice versa.
Have you ever felt the urge to unwind and read a book because your life has been so busy with work and family?
Or maybe the sudden desire to travel out of town for the weekend?
How about a sudden desire to donate to a charity or a cause that tugs at your heart.
All these are ways that the natural law of equilibrium sends signals about maybe giving back or drawing from the well of life.
Our emotional wellness is vital, it forms part of the 4 core dimensions of our being.
God created all things in nature with the law of giving and taking... Sowing and reaping.
There is a saying that goes "A tree does not make a forest".
In Yoruba... "Igi kan ole da gbo shè" 🥰
Take care of ALL of you❤️❤️❤️
You matter.
You are important.
