A humbling reality to wrestle with today. In defense of intent we will rush to give the resume of our good deeds and plans when asked to face a striking detail of failure.

This can apply to so many things and most people are feeling PRESSED right now, but this is about having a womb to tomb life ethic. This is about holding onto the dignity of others, even the ones we consider enemies and even when we are overwhelmed.

And yes…

dynamics are complex
circumstances are overwhelming
people are difficult

Most people get focused on one without the other.

Most people get fixated on the first, neglecting the last. Safety can be exactly what most assume, but it also has some broader meaning. Safety in the nervous system can be anything from dislike to life threatening. This means that the negotiation and compromise between parties about the shared sexual experience, choices, and activities is very important—not simply the results but the process and intimacy of getting to that mutual choice.

These can be a big contributor to sexual issues and dysfunction.

Good news is there is a lot you can do to work toward healing and building up both.
