With another More Than Words course starting next week I wanted to share some feedback from previous participants.

Are you searching for tips for helping your child improve their reading skills?

With the school year well underway, this has become a popular topic with many families I work with!

I'm excited to share this brand new study which has found that early readers do better decoding words when they blend the sounds all together, rather than say each sound on its own first and then blend.

Words with longer sounds in them like M, S, and F were also found to be more successful at helping young children learn to read.

Let's take the word 'Mom' for example. Instead of individually sounding out the word: (e.g. M-O-M), it's helpful to blend the sounds together (e.g. mmmooommm).
