Our goal is to be supportive of members who need information about the disease, to direct them to resources and to be empathetic, providing a sense of community with other forum members who share their personal stories. We will also strive to work on goals together, such as exploring possible ways to raise funds for a cure, work with researchers on a groundbreaking studies on the safety and efficacy of Radiation Therapy and to try and broker a collaboration between Hand Surgeons and Radiation Oncologists so that we change the course of patient access to Radiation Therapy care and improve outcomes. It is our hope that Radiation Oncologists will partner with us to work towards our goals. We have an opportunity to change the course of treatments for millions of sufferers worldwide. We hope to have spirited debate and discussion about all of the issues facing Dupuytren's and Ledderhose patients but our special focus will be on early intervention with radiation therapy (RT). Our forum is administered by a knowledgeable group of 12 fellow disease sufferers and laypeople. Additionally, we are fortunate to have a number of Radiation Oncologists and hand surgeons who serve as our forum experts. As such, the information provided on this page, both in Files and in our daily discussion threads, does not constitute medical advice and it is the responsibility of forum members to do their own research, including consultations with personal medical doctors before making any decision about treatment.
