is a tradition Indian and southeast Asian gesture of respect. A greeting often accompanied by joining both the palms together. Which has many benefits traditionally and scientifically both. The meaning of Namaskar is simply bowing which I understand helps to put our ego aside and become non judgmental for the person in the front. It helps not to judge a person on the base of his past or on the base of our imaginary perception for a person who is in our front. This gesture spread kindness, calmness and spreads positive energy around you not only because of your humble nature but also because of your acceptance as the ability to accept others to be their own unique person. And scientifically as we all knows that our hands has many nerves endings and they are so powerful to provide our brain many messages in different ways which we experience in our daily life.. and when joining both the palm together it helps rapid succession to our energy to move in a certain way which helps in balancing our inner energy and provide more sense of acceptance.. the palm or finger gestures has a ability to move our energies in a particular way and that is the reason Yogi’s and yoga practitioners uses different palm gestures while doing meditation which helps in their practices. Which you can also notice/see in all the Buddha statues and in any meditation asanas.... -lifestyle

Urdhva mukha śvānāsana or Upward Facing Dog Pose
Upward-Facing Dog stretches the chest and spine, while providing strength to the wrists, arms, and shoulders. By strengthening and opening the upper body and chest, it improves upper posture. It provides flexibility in the back torso and abdomen, which stimulates the abdominal organs and improves digestion. It also firms the buttocks and thighs, helping to relieve sciatica.
Caution:- Do not practice Upward Facing Dog if you have carpal tunnel syndrome, recent back or wrist injury. Women who are pregnant should also avoid practicing this pose after the first trimester, as it can create too much strain on the round ligaments and lower back. If you have any medical concerns, talk with your doctor before practicing yoga. Shivayogshala

Adho Mukha Śvānāsana or Downward Dog Pose

Downward Dog has positive effects on the musculoskeletal system. It stretches the hamstring and calf muscles in the backs of the legs, and builds strength in the shoulders. This Pose strengthen the nerves and muscles in the arm and legs. The spinal nerves are toned and circulation is stimulated especially in the upper spine between the shoulder blades.

Contraindications for Adho Mukha Svanasana:
People suffering from uncontrolled high blood pressure, weak eye capillaries, detached retina, or any other infection or inflammation of the eyes and ears should avoid practicing Downward Facing Dog.
Also, those with recent or chronic inflammation/injury to the arms, wrists, shoulders, back, hips, knees, legs, or ankles will want to wait until returning to health before practicing the pose.

Patanjali begins discussion of Asana by defining it in verse 46 of Book 2, as follows

स्थिरसुखमासनम्
sthira sukham asanam

An asana is what is steady, motionless and pleasant.
— Yoga Sutras II.46

Asana is a posture that one can hold for a period of time, staying relaxed, steady, comfortable and motionless. Patanjali does not list any specific asana, except the brief suggestion, "posture one can hold with comfort and motionlessness".Āraṇya translates verse II.47 as, "asanas are perfected over time by relaxation of effort with meditation on the infinite"; this combination and practice stops the unsteadiness of the body.

With a regular practice of yoga asana’s (postures) one can achieve steady and motionless asana (posture) to do his meditation practice.

असतोमा सद्गमय ।
तमसोमा ज्योतिर् गमय ।
मृत्योर्मामृतं गमय ॥
ॐ शान्ति शान्ति शान्तिः ।।

asato mā sadgamaya
tamasomā jyotir gamaya
mrityormāamritam gamaya
Oṁ śhānti śhānti śhāntiḥ

From ignorance, lead me to truth;
From darkness, lead me to light;
From death, lead me to immortality
Om peace, peace, peace

Chanting Mantra can be very helpful to relieve stress. The rhythm, sound & vibrations of the chanting moves energy flow throughout the body. The movement of energy regulates the chemicals in our brains. It helps in blocking stress hormones and releases endorphins.

श्रेयान् स्वधर्मो विगुणः परधर्मात् स्वनुष्टितात्।
स्वधर्मे निधनं श्रेयः परधर्मो भयावहः॥
śreyān svadharmo viguṇaḥ paradharmāt svanuṣṭitāt।
svadharme nidhanaṃ śreyaḥ paradharmo bhayāvahaḥ॥

It is far better to live your own destiny, duties, and nature imperfectly than to live an imitation of someone else’s with perfection. Even death in your own nature is better; imitation of others is fraught with danger.
