The Black Patient Experience was created out of passion for the spirit of improvement, education and advocacy to improve health care for all. Our mission is to help those in need resolve conflicts and navigate the complexities of the healthcare field. We do not provide medical or legal advice. We provide guidance on how to resolve issues with your medical team and/or help you gather information should you need to seek further resources.
I the founder, grew up in the inner city of Chicago and noticed early on that the experiences of minorities at healthcare facilities were less than optimal. I then dedicated my career to helping improve this. I have worked at the world’s top healthcare facility for the past 16 years to gain perspective on what good healthcare should look like clinically, administratively and inter-personally. In an effort to connect all that I have learned, I completed my Master’s Degree in Public Health and volunteered at community heath organizations to gain perspective. All of this has led me to creating The Black Patient Experience, where my team and I can be a beacon to help successfully guide those in need through their healthcare experience.
