Carbon Monoxide (CO) is a colourless and odourless gas that can prove to be lethal at high levels. While it’s generally non-irritating, CO is known for killing people who are unaware of its presence. CO is produced during incomplete combustion of organic matter, whether it’s from car engines, heaters, or cooking appliances that run on carbon-based fuels. Symptoms include headache, dizziness and even loss of consciousness, so it’s always important to be aware of your surroundings, especially during traffic congestion.
